These leaks prove that they think that we like the characters not because of their personalities and experiences, but because of their names and shticks. Unlike the previous iterations, the next generation isn't a fresh start, it's merely a cheap knockoff. They're dropping the people at DHX who put this passion in this, giving depth to those characters, making them lovable. They're dropping the voice actors who will always be tied in our minds to the ponies. If it was a legit new generation, like G4 was to G3, it wouldn't be too much of a problem, but for some reason, people at Hasbro genuinely believe that the show was successful because there was a nerd called Twilight, a tomboy called Rainbow Dash, etc, and nothing else matters, so, in their imagination, if they make a new show with a nerd called Twilight, and a tomboy called Rainbow Dash, and whatever, people will love it the same because that's the only thing we like about those ponies. It's insulting. It's a cheap and lame trick, not even a real attempt to make a good show, they're just trying to convince us to watch it "because."
As much as I love the show, I wholeheartedly hope to see Hasbro fail with this. This is insulting, and they don't deserve their success.
