>>4447Well of course. I mean we're all chill here.
Haha, well that's good. Glad to help. Certainly makes things interesting.
Make it like Elder Scrolls but cooler.
Funny thing, I've actually been bouncing around the idea that completing certain quests and objectives actually rewards players with the opportunity to gain unique class levels and abilities.
The thing being though, that I've imagined Zefaria as a fantasy world where magic and medieval weaponry exists beside sci-fi era technology. The idea then was to somehow balance these aspects in how the world works.
First off, I should probably explain that in Zefaria, all sapient creatures have a natural energy flow: similar to the idea of chakrah or chi.
To put it simply, high technology is a sort of "base"; easy to pick up and use. Laser rifles would be manufactured fairly easily, even if they might be a bit more costly. But anyone can easily pick one up and fire, making them a simple way to increase one's capabilities. However, the use of technology does not include a person's natural energy in its use, and so applying technology does not strengthen it in any form.
Now, in the use of magic, people disrupt this natural flow of energy, shifting them to elemental energy to manipulate their surroundings. For example, a fireball is cast by interrupting energy flow, gathering it up, and shifting it to fire energy, before expelling it out of their body in a ball of flame. Magic needs training to use effectively and efficiently, making better use of it, but the most studious of mages would eventually cast rays of frost and energy with ease that could far overpower any simple rifle.
The last being attunement: The reinforcement of a person's natural energy flow. Though great training and determination, a person can attune themselves and strengthen their natural energy flow, being able to increase their natural abilities far beyond what is normal. Wielding smithed swords and bows, people are even able to attune their energy into that of their weapons, strengthening their armaments to form incredible power. Attunement has the slowest "strength" growth of the three, but the end game of it is vastly superior to them
Wow that wasn't simple at all.
