Name
?

This field is optional. You can choose any name you want, or you can post anonymously by leaving this field empty.

Tripcodes are a way to identify yourself between posts without having to register with the site. To use a tripcode, enter your name as ‹name›#‹key›.You can choose anything you want as the key—it is private and will never be shown to other posters or stored on the server. For example:

Rarity#bestpony → Rarity!.4PK7yxdII

If you want a tripcode containing specific words, you can download a program designed to search for tripcodes, such as Tripcode Explorer.

Email?

Entering an e-mail is optional.

There are also code words you can enter here which perform certain actions when you submit your post.

  • sage — lets you post without bumping a thread.
  • nonoko — uses the original post behavior to redirect to the board index.

These can be used at the same time as an e-mail address by typing ‹email›#‹action›.

You can also use Skype names in place of an e-mail. The notation is the same as a link to a username on skype itself, which is skype:‹username›

Colored ID's AnonymousCountry code: ponychan.png, country type: customflag, valid: 14908

Is there a way you guys could add an option to turn on colored ID's for /ef/ like 4chan/8chan? I ask because it makes it kinda complicated to see which anon is which when reading through a thread. You have to read through all those weird numbers which is tedious.

Sure, I'll look into it.

That's not a bad idea actually. I too have that issue at times.

It isn't quite done yet, but it's getting close.

Now THAT was fast. How did you do it?

Post IDs contain 6 characters that can be treated like hexadecimal numbers since they're all 0-9 or A-F, and since HTML element colors are usually represented by three 2-digit hexadecimal numbers (3 x 2 = 6), I just set the background color to the ID.

There's still a problem though. If an ID's background color is too dark, the text is unreadable, so I'm figuring out how to set the ID text color to black or white, depending on the background color.

Is there a way to turn this off on a per-user basis? It's garish.

Aside from a toggle switch in settings, one solution, (which I'm assuming >>14910 will know how to calculate) is to decrease the saturation of the raw values. Then it will at least look reasonable. The super-intense and ultra-dark values both stand out like a sore thumb.

I suggest using lightness as computed in the sRGB color model as 0.21R + 0.72G + 0.07B.

I noticed it looks a lot better on my PC than it does on my phone.

It kind of washes out the text completely on my phone, but i assume thats just the quality of my screen.

I think they prefer to be called IDs of color.

just a suggestion im putting out there

if you have it set it like this it would look a lot less wonky and would show just the ID itself which is what we want to see anyway

other than the color being white for the darker background and the ability to toggle it on or off thats it

For calculating whether the text should be white or black based on the background color, it actually uses the same values as 8chan
https://github.com/ctrlcctrlv/infinity/blob/2bc5b6dbf31af50f54e73f88569496e19b143aad/js/id_colors.js#L44

(in pseudocode)
if((0.299R + 0.587G + 0.114B) > 125) {
black text
} else {
white text
}

>>14950
That doesn't really seem to make a huge difference.

I added a settings option so you can choose whether you want them colored or not. It defaults to unchecked.

Man, these look amazing. Nice work.

Personally though I would leave it so they're on by default that way people know the have the option to turn it on or off. And the fact it exists.

I want your work to be noticed. Plus it makes more sense.

Yes, it does! And the option to toggle it off is now available. You just have to refresh afterwards.

There are two reasons why.

1.) Because your IP has changed.

and

2.) Because you're in a different thread which the ID changes that way on purpose to give a little more protection to Anonymous users.
