I think the problems are a bit deeper than just the admins not responding in a timely fashion right now. It's more to do with the fact that a lot of people know the admins are around, but just seem to be ignoring all the ire and distaste that's been brewing for a while now.
We know Macil's still hanging around the /b/ and friends thread, and I'm willing to bet Astra's still in the Discord chat, so why aren't they saying anything? They're clearly looking at the site, or at the very least are still connected to it, so they should
be paying attention to what's going on. If they are, why aren't they saying anything? And if they're not, then that's negligence and that's not what people in their position should be doing.
Which is the real issue here: the people in charge aren't giving the users enough faith that they're doing their jobs properly. And the worst part about it is that we can't actually do anything about that.>>10739
Outcries like this have been all over the place lately, but it's clear that even with that nothing's actually going to change. Someone else pointed out in another thread that if Macil just disappeared one day, the site would be fucked, because no one else has the keys to the actual coding for the site because he apparently just won't give it to anyone. Both Macil and Astra have unopposed power and nothing we say or do is going to make them suddenly give that up. Especially not Macil, who seems to do everything to come off as a brick wall to any criticism thrown at him, so the odds of him deciding to just step down seem to be nil.
All of this contributes to the desire for someone to just make a new site and have people in charge that the users know they can trust. If Anonthony or TPWPF or you, Fen, were in charge these issues wouldn't come up, and since Macil isn't gonna hand the keys over to anyone else any time soon, and working with him seems to be enough to knock twenty years off of one's life, then this is the only recourse left.
I get not wanting to salt the earth or whatever, I get not wanting to resort to extreme solutions, but when it feels like it's the only thing left, people are going to want it.
