Oh my, will you look at the clock?
My age is on it, btw.
Yes! You guessed it, it's daily Nino Christmas fact time!
This time it's about Santa's loyal beasts of burden, the Reindeers!
Who doesn't know the stories about them, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen and Blitzen
All pretty male sounding names aren't they?
Well, it's too bad that Male Reindeers actually lose their antlers during winter, right around christmas eve in fact.
The implication?
Either all of Santa's Sled Pullers are female or they're castrated!
That wasn't too fun a fact?
Well, how about a double whammy fact hit then?Nino has an almost infinite knowledge at her disposal you know. How about our dear friends from Japan?
How do they celebrate christmas?
Kentucky Fried Chicken has been in Japan since the 1970s, for the rest of the world Christmas evokes feeling of homecooked dinner with the family, but for the Japanes it's fast food! Not to mention that Christmas isn't even an official holiday in Nipponland.
Once upon a time a Christian Kindergarten in Japan wanted to hold a little Christmas Party for the kids, deciding to rent a KFC and asking the staff to dress up as Santa Claus and his elves if possible while playing all the old Christmas songs.
The kids really enjoyed it and soon enough word spread of this strange western tradition, over the years more and more schools would hold their christmas parties at a KFC.
A few decades later and KFC has cemented itself in Japanese culture to the point where it became commonplace to have KFC take-out for dinner.
However, if you plan to have your Christmas Dinner at an actual location you better reserve a table three months in advance, otherwise you're out of luck!
So whether you cook a turducken or have Mc Donalds for your Christmas dinner, don't feel bad about it!
It's the spirit behind the food that warms your heart and belly!
And with that this Nino is signing off once more until tommorow!
Good Night
