Diana Moon Glampers Nother Nonymous No.36832060
Has anyone noticed that "The Cutie Map" is a ponification of Kurt Vonnegut's 1961 short story, “Harrison Bergeron,” greatly beloved of right-wing thinkers? In it, the U.S. is governed by a Handicapper General named Diana Moon Glampers, whose minions assign handicaps to everyone to ensure that nobody has any grounds for feeling themselves superior to anyone else. The beautiful person is obliged to wear an ugly wig and frumpy clothing, the brilliant person wears headphones that produce thought-preventing noise, the ballerina wears lead shoes, and so on.
"Starlight Glimmer" is an obvious play on "Diana Moon Glampers." No?
