> We don't know whether the carrier chooses the effect or the elements.
You think Princess Celestia. Chose to banish her sister. For a thousand years. Instead of curing her.
>>automatically trust Cozy Glow,>I don't remember that.
When did she enroll in the school? Where did she come from? Nopony's asking about that, and she's now Twilight's personal assistant. Wasn't she supposed to be just a student? Nopony's gonna notice this, nopony at all?
Oh sure, we won't tell our professors about the monster plant under our school, since they'd probably just get you in trouble, those untrustworthy instructors and counselors, not like you, Cozy Glow. We always trust you.
> Is it? I thought the tunnels are coming from Twilight's castle which has come from the tree.
Possibly, but it did claim to be the Tree of Harmony.
>>The tree itself heartlessly murdered six creatures
>... which attacked it.
They didn't attack it. Actually Mean Twilight defended
it, though she did so for her own petty, self-centered reasons.
Heck it killed Mean Rainbow Dash for taking a nap!
>>automatically trust the map
> There's no reason not to trust it. It's always been correct so far when it wasn't tempered with.
Well, the first thing it did was try to get the main 6 out of the picture by sending them to get their cutie marks stripped off. Then it sent the two most powerful ones to get killed in a chasm with winds that specifically destroy a pegasus's ability to fly. Then it tried to get the weaker ones killed in a condemned theater. Then it sends Fluttershy and Twilight straight into a war zone. I mean, getting hit with pumpkins probably isn't lethal, but it sure is symbolic of something that is!
Of course, all those "life-threatening" dangers were needed to solve important friendship problems, such as destroying Starlight's friendships with her entire village, or telling gryphons to uh, bake scones. Can you see why I'm surprised that nopony has ever even questioned why they obey the map?
It's probably all just lazy writing, but after episode 22 I'm not so sure they weren't trying to imply something a little more... sinister.
