According to FilmLA, the official Los Angeles film office, My Little Pony: The Movie
had a production budget of $6.5 million (https://www.filmla.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/2017_film_study_v3-WEB.pdf
). This makes it almost the cheapest feature film made in whole or in part in California last year. This figure is also a LOT
less than any estimates I've seen on any brony website. If this budget estimate is correct, then the movie was fantastically profitable, reaping almost a one thousand percent
return on investment.
Can this be possible? What are the implications?
