When I see episodes like this all I can think about is how many fan fictions have been destroyed, and how much this will affect future fan fictions, to the point where some might just not be written at all. Especially when a show like this is ending, sometimes not telling a story cam go a lot further than shoehorning one in, along with 4 new continuity breaking characters, you know just to add insult to injury.
This is likely the only time we’ll get to see Scootaloo’s parents, and in the short amount of time that we did see them they were extremely neglectful and showed absolutely no concern for Scootaloo, almost to the of abuse. Her aunts were a lot better, but they were only included to garner that last minute controversy and attention for the show, before everything was finally wrapped up. And as I said before, they’re “big reveal” was underwhelming to say the least. They were all forced in because the writers wanted an “edgy” and “controversial” excuse to end the CMC’s story arch, nothing else.
Introducing an interesting concept into the show doesn’t automatically make for a good episode, you actually have to build an interesting story around it.
