No one’s done one of these in ages, and they usually get posting speeds up if other people participate and make their own.

Fuck it! Ask me all of your most disturbing, sick questions.

We should do a truth or dare thread next week. That could also be interesting.

I’m 19 and a half.

>Kids your age, sadly, do not have the mental capacity to discern between right and wrong,

99% of people believe that A: it’s wrong to kill or even harm innocent sentient beings, B: animals are sentient beings, but they eat meat and dairy, contributing a literal perpetual holocaust in which billions of innocent sentient beings are killed everyday.

I became manic, and occasionally become manic or extremely depressed when thinking about this issue because of the hopelessness of it. There are so many animals being tortured both physically and physiologically in ways that you couldn’t possibly imagine, and yet 99% of people contribute to this.

If I tortured a dog to death most people would say I should be hung, many would even say I should be tortured. Most people are also aware that pigs are smarter and more emotionally aware than dogs, and yet they contribute towards the torture and death of countless innocent pigs everyday.

Billions of innocent beings with their own emotions, thoughts, feelings, will to live, and individuality are enslaved, tortured and killed every year, and 99% of people (the same people who would hang me if I did half of that to a dog, less intelligent and emotionally aware than pigs) are okay with this, they literally contribute to the death and torture of these animals daily. There are people on this site that have personally killed innocent, intelligent sentient begins, and I’m supposed to be okay with that, and then when they call me a bad person for holding some racist beliefs I’m supposed to believe that I’m the bad guy, knowing what they have done, condone and continues to do.

Cows cry for literally days when their babies are taken from them. Like all factory farmed beings they emotionally aware, and people cause so many of them unimaginable amounts of pain and suffering for what, McDonald’s cheese burgers. These animals are tortured every minute of their fucking lives, for cheese burgers.

Unless you’re Vegan you personally contribute to this daily, but I “do not have the mental capacity to discern between right and wrong”. I understand that my position is extreme when compared if you’re defining extreme from deviation from the norm, but please think about my position.

Maybe this sounds stupid, but sometimes I just can’t take the moral weight of it all and snap. I spent the last hour and a half to two hours in extreme emotional distress, and you’re response is that I can’t tell right from wrong, and was somehow duped by the American political system.

My position is literally, don’t kill and torture innocent animals, but I can’t tell right from wrong? Again, I recognise that I’m a neurotic mess, but how is my position, divorced from me as an individual wrong.

>fell for it somehow.

My economic positions are far left and basically Marxist in origin (I’m not a Socialist or Communist, I’m basically in favour of the kind of economic system China currently has, with a focus on human capital, rather than mindlessly increasingly GDP), my social positions are a mix of left and right, and I’m an ethno-nat. I’m about as far as you can get away from Republican and Democrat.

There's no way I am reading all that Bible.

You are probably being like Heidi from South Park: She was in a toxic relationship with Cartman and wanted to end it, but when people started to criticize her for that, she doubled down and defended her ideas, even when it was obvious she was wrong, merely because people were calling her out in the first place.

I have not read anything you wrote at all but I assume that's the case. I don't get paid to read wall of texts. But if I did hit the nail, maybe more self-reflection is in order.
Stop trying to justify yourself, and accept to learn your mistakes with a simple "I was wrong".

TL;DR My position is literally, don’t kill and torture innocent animals, but I can’t tell right from wrong? You say I “can’t tell right from wrong” when you kill innocent sentient animals daily through your food choices?

Also I’m 19 and a half.

>Stop trying to justify yourself, and accept to learn your mistakes with a simple "I was wrong".

Oh my God, that post was literally just about not killing innocent animals. Yes, I will justify the existence of sentient beings from torture and death.

>There are people on this site that have personally killed innocent, intelligent sentient begins, and I’m supposed to be okay with that,
tbh, hunting is one of the most humane ways of procuring meat. Wild deer live much better lives than factory-farmed cows.

>and then when they call me a bad person for holding some racist beliefs I’m supposed to believe that I’m the bad guy, knowing what they have done, condone and continues to do.

Most people don't think about ethics or morals from first principles. They simply go like "Racists are the outgroup, the outgroup is evil, and I am virtuous for calling racists evil". See also https://web.archive.org/web/20200101005442/http://slatestarcodex.com/2014/09/30/i-can-tolerate-anything-except-the-outgroup/

I don't share your beliefs regarding veganism [1], but I'll agree that, from your perspective, feeding market demand for factory-farmed meat is far worse than your racist ideas would be to a typical person who actually thinks about them carefully instead going full-on political tribalism.

>I’m basically in favour of the kind of economic system China currently has, with a focus on human capital, rather than mindlessly increasingly GDP

I disagree that China actually has a such a policy (regardless of what they may claim). China's economy is driven to further the power of Xi Jinping and his supporters.

[1] In particular, I am still in favor of eating meat and animal products, but I would abolish factory farming and require more humane livestock-raising practices. Yes, this would require significantly more human labor. But this might kill two birds with one stone, given the unemployment figures.

That’s what made me manic. I’ve never got seriously upset about even my most extreme political opinions, that’s the only thing that affects me emotionally in a detrimental way.

I also said in my original post that I’m no longer a Nazi, something that I haven’t identified as for nearly a year and a half.

>But you get what I mean now, I hope?

You didn’t read my post, merely skimming over it.

>I couldn't care less about the "veganism"

My political opinions are almost constantly changing, its why I hold so many seemingly incoherent beliefs together like, trans rights and anti-Capitalism based off a Marxist perspective with things like Nationalism and anti-Democratic sentiment. A lot of my beliefs literally 180° since about a year ago, or even 6 months ago. The only two beliefs I hold that I held two years ago are Veganism and Nationalism, I think my opinion on literally every other subject has changed radically, and I expect them to continue to change in the future as I read more political theory and get introduced to new ways of thinking about the world.

People seem to think I’m closed minded, but I’ve probably read more than twice as much left wing political theory than right wing theory, and nearly every left wing book I’ve read has changed my opinion somewhat. How many lefties who claim that people like me are closed minded have read a single pice of right wing political theory?

>Do you think it sounds a little foolish to hold to outdated ideas?

No. I form my ideas based on what I perceive to be right, not what’s cool and hip at the current moment. Wether or not people agree with me os irrelevant, the ideas themselves are solely important.

>Do you know how to drive? Do you have a car?

I’m 19, so no.

>Also, have you ever smoked a spliff with a couple of niggas?

I’ve never taken any drugs, including alcohol or cigarettes in my entire life, and I don’t intend to take even a sip of alcohol until I die.

>>42144789
>tbh, hunting is one of the most humane ways of procuring meat.
100% agree. Hunting is at least 10 times better than factory farming, but you’re still taking an innocuous life. Hunting is better, Veganism is best.

>They simply go like "Racists are the outgroup, the outgroup is evil, and I am virtuous for calling racists evil".

The justifications people use for oppressing animals is literally “they are mentally inferior and look different than us/are out group”, and then these same people will call me racist and evil because I want to supposedly oppress Black people (which I don’t want to do) because they think I think “Black people are mentally inferior and look different than us/are out group”.

They use the exact same logic they claim that I use for the same ends, only they’re idea of oppression is slavery, torture, and murder, all I want is segregation. But I’m the bad guy? I recognise my internal contradictions and have ways of dealing with them logically, they are just ignorant.

Also please stop the political talk. I certainly don’t mind, but politics is banned from /oat/. I don’t want to get banned, nor do I want you to be banned. Ask me anything else.

Edited my post to mention veganism. I think there has been a grave misunderstanding here.

As for your reply, you do raise a valid point, but are also using it as a justification. Believing in animal equality does not remove any other "unsavory" part of your personality. You might still be a bad guy if you hold such ideas. But apparently you don't anymore so that's good.

At your age, you shouldn't be so fervent about your ideas. As you mature, they will change over time, and maybe you will eventually learn to not take things too seriously. Discussions online are pointless.

>You don't have a car, but you want to form heavy political and life opinions?

I’m extremely poor. Buying something that costs £10 is unironically a major luxury for me, buying something that costs hundreds if not thousands plus insurance, petrol, etc is completely inconceivable to me. I don’t even receive welfare, how would I pay for a car?

I tried applying for work as soon as I left high school, and got nothing, so I got a job at a charity shop. I was actually making real strides towards getting a paying job, then quarantine happened. I’d probably have a paying job by now, but again, the world as we know it literally ended.

I just recently started applying for jobs again. So far 4 rejections, no positives.

Millennials complain about it being hard to find a job because of 2008, try being a Zoomer in 2020.

>I think you should try those things, be open to new experiences

I plan to take mushrooms at some point in my life (probably several long years from now) because that would be a genuinely interesting experience. Mushrooms or other hallucinogens are supposed to be a genuinely reality warping experience that radically changes your perspective on life, alcohol makes you retarded and weed makes you sleepy.

I’m currently sleepy so I know what weed is like, and the experience of mental retardation is surely something that will not leave me anytime soon. (I know that alcohol/weed are more complex than I described, but I view both as not being particularly helpful).

Do shrooms (once, in a responsible way for reasons of genuine self exploration, not for fun), not alcohol.

I don’t currently ascribe to a particularly philosophy/ideology.

Finding a job absolutely sucks, i get it. But don't make excuses.
Zoomers probably have terrible work ethic, so its not hopeless for you.
Trust me, you got a chance.
Learn how to drive, that'll open doors for you.
Resturaunt jobs suck, maybe you could become a porter?

Noooooooo you're doing it wrong!!!!
Go buy a Clubtail and a loosie please!!!!!
I am genuinely invested in you doing this!

>Learn how to drive, that'll open doors for you.
I literally saw a job yesterday driving a scooter around delivering pizzas that actually paid really well and thought, “wow, that looks awesome”, but of course, you need a drivers license.

It’s something I’ll definitely have to do at some point when I get the money for it, and quarantine ends. If I can’t get a job by the end of the year I’ll likely be on welfare, so maybe that could help pay for the lessons, and then I get to scoot about with pizzas and get all the money.

>porter

>a person employed to carry luggage and other loads, especially in a railway station, airport, hotel, or market
Sounds like a decent job. I tried applying for warehouse places because the idea of carrying something from A to B actually sounds really nice and calming to me, but those are two of the things I was struck down for.

I think it’s because I insist that I can’t work Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays because that’s when I’m at college. The sooner my course ends the better. The ironic thing is that part of the course is helping people get and prepare for jobs, but not being able to work those days is probably half of why all my applications are rejected.

>Clubtail

>Geloso Beverage Group launched Clubtails flavored malt beverages in Sex on the Beach, Screw Driver, Long Island Iced Tea and Bahama Mama varieties. Each beverage contains 10 percent alcohol by volume and is lightly carbonated.
The alchemy or bug? I’m assuming you mean drug? Link please.

I live with my mum right now. I’ll probably start experimenting with drugs as soon as I get my own place, so maybe two years from now, at least, if I’m being realistic. That’ll give me time to research so I don’t make any stupid decisions. I want a safe space where I can experiment, a hose shared with 3 people and two animals isn’t that.

Pizza delivery on a scooter does seem cool, and you only have to deal with other people for minutes, which is nice.
I would say skip the lessons, find a drivers book and a parking lot to learn and get the license.
>porter
When I said porter,
I meant someone who parks vehicles, like in a car dealership service department.
You don't even have to go on roads.
A valet is a step up from that, much fancier.

>Sex on the Beach, Screw Driver, Long Island Iced Tea and Bahama Mama varieties.

Thats the one. Try that. It'll be fun. Its like drinking, but without the alcoholism and hangovers.
And cigarette to top it off, if your up for it. Its a nice combo.
>I’ll probably start experimenting with drugs as soon as I get my own place

Is it really different than most alcohol? How so? If it is it’s something I might consider. I just don’t see the point in getting drunk, especially considering that it causes permanent brain damage, but if this is different I want to hear it.

>Just do weed. Everything else will ruin your life.

As I said, I’d do research. Not like I’m talking about heroine or anything retarded like that. I’m talking about non-addictive hallucinogens exclusively, and again, a few years from now.

Well this thread descended into absolute cancer and then recovered pretty quickly.

But seriously every 3-6 months or so I generally go through a phase of a few days to a week where I’m highly neurotic and just act in unusually irresponsible ways that I generally wouldn’t. Then it all culminates in a kind of mental breakdown that lasts a few hours, after which I recover and feel strangely better. Does anyone know if this is linked to wider condition, because it’s something I’ve experienced pretty consistently over the past few years, and it just seems to come completely out of nowhere?

Well your an avid reader, so finding a learners permit manual will teach you alot of the rules you need to know for your written test.
If your mom has a car, get her to take you to a parking lot, and get a feel going in circles.
If not, then IDK.
>Is it really different than most alcohol? How so?
Its formulated to be a soda, with alcohol as an after-additive.
I've found that it produces a similar effect, but it contains 10% alcohol in just one can, allowing you to get a condensed effect, without having to consume unhealthy amounts. You''ll snap back to normal after 2 hours. And its fruity!
>As I said, I’d do research.
I trust you'd take care of yourself.
>>42144832
Thankfully.
I think this is fairly normal. Its possible to be a condition, but I think many go through that. Might just be episodes of irritability?
People have ways of coping with that.
>I just don’t see the point in getting drunk
Typically business culture in Japan hold drinking after work hours as a social event to unwind from the mental turmoil and hardship as well as socialize. They'd go crazy otherwise.
Perhaps during those "episodes:, the drink I told you about might help you to unwind, or vent the stress.
There's plenty of healthy ways to do this too. Though I'd be a personal basis I couldn't really suggest.

Maybe I’m still a bit neurotic, but now I’m genuinely curious to try this. Unfortunately it looks like we don’t have them in Britain, plus I’d need ID. You can buy alcohol at 18 here, but you need to look at least 21 to get it without ID. If I grow my beard out a little more, which I’m currently trying, I could probably pass for 21. My sisters managed to consistently get it since she was 14, so it can’t be too hard.

As I said I don’t know. Maybe it’s something I will try at some point, but if I’m being completely honest, not anytime soon. You said two hours, would that apply for someone who’s never drank in his life, or could the side effects be longer.

TL;DR I’m basically too much of a pussy to actually do it IRL, but you peaked my interest.

>Might just be episodes of irritability?

Probably. Still disturbing, and I tend to feel a lot of regret for awhile after it.

>There's plenty of healthy ways to do this too. Though I'd be a personal basis I couldn't really suggest.

My perception of alcohol is that it just makes you stupid and happy, so I’ve never seen much point in it.

I think I’m probably so prejudice against it because of my country’s terrible drinking culture. Alcohol is basically associated with everything I despise for one reason or another, partying, fighting, loud idiots, etc. So that’s kind of how I’ve always viewed it.

Its not something they advertise, since a girly drink is hard to sell.
Its possible though.
>You can buy alcohol at 18 here, but you need to look at least 21 to get it without ID
I've been able to buy things under age, but only after befriending the clerk over time.
That's really hard to do too. Confidence is the best disguise though.
Just slam the can down and throw the monies on the counter.
"ID?"
>rolls eyes
"I forgot it."
"whatever"
>You said two hours, would that apply for someone who’s never drank in his life, or could the side effects be longer
Well I started on harder stuff, but always felt just awful afterwards.
These were a step down for me that felt good.
So Idk about first time experiences of it.
First times are always a different experience, and not a good indicator of true effect.
I'd expect headaches on the first couple tries possibly.
>probably. Still disturbing, and I tend to feel a lot of regret for awhile after it.
I had a friend with aspergers that would sperg out quite often, and I'd have to try and help him keep his cool in school,
but years later, he snapped out of it. He has no regrets now. He's cooler than me now. I'm the retarded one now.
>I think I’m probably so prejudice against it because of my country’s terrible drinking culture. Alcohol is basically associated with everything I despise for one reason or another.
Hearing this, I see now why you haven't tried it. Many people conduct themselves terribly, and others have it plague their family.
Plenty reason to despise it.
Everyone over estimates their self control. Sometimes you have to learn self control though, as my friend has.

I look at least my age, so I could probably get away with it. I’m just too anxious to try I guess.

>So Idk about first time experiences of it.

Now that I think about it considering my prejudices I’ll probably have to try it at some point, but I couldn’t see it ever becoming a habit, even a monthly one or something.

>I had a friend with aspergers that would sperg out quite often,

I also have aspergers, but I’ve never experienced a sperg-out, at least as I understand them. I knew someone else who had aspergers, and they constantly had them.

My understanding is that they’re random feelings of rage that usually result in outburst, which leads to screaming, crying, punching walls, etc. I’ve never experienced that, in fact I doubt remember the last time I ever shouted or got genuinely angry. Inside I can be pretty neurotic, but outside, especially IRL, I’m generally pretty chill. Even when I have one of these breakdowns I don’t scream or anything, I just get a bit manic for a few hours.

>Hearing this, I see now why you haven't tried it.

Yeah, I’ve never known it outside of a bad context, and because I’m not very sociable I’ve not had any reason to try it, so I haven’t.

Dragon Soup might actually be our version of it, if you’re familiar with that.

It’s basic supply and demand. If you buy meat you’re increasing demand for that product, which increases the supply.

>Would you say you are a Vegan for personal moral reasons,

Realistically I recognise that me being Vegan doesn’t do anything, but you could say the same about recycling. Doesn’t matter how much or little I recycle, it makes no difference. What matters is the collective effort.

Then again I’m a doomer Vegan. I think this is largely a societal fad and that in 10 years or so will be largely gone. Pic related suggests that Veganism has already reached its peak. Still, regardless of what happens I don’t want add to the problem, even if I’m aware of how hopeless the situation is.

So personal moral reasons.

>It’s basic supply and demand. If you buy meat you’re increasing demand for that product, which increases the supply.
This is true, typically supermarkets maintain a steady supply, unwavered. It would take a major impact to mathematically save a couple livestock, and even then,
It would only prolong the inevitable.
Unfortunately, Covid probably only upped demand recently, so veganism would have to be much more widespread to make any difference.

Possibly. People bandwagon on whats "right" without really caring often. But were in a much more tolerant society now, so It might not go anywhere.

You mean because of the merge? Yes and no.

For me it was just really sudden and quite shocking (I didn’t even know that a merger was possible), but as I said to her, I want whatever is going to make her happiest, whatever’s best for her, and so far the merger has seemed like a really positive move for her and her sister.

Brazie and her sisters already went through a lot, a lot more than I’ve ever dealt with or will deal with in my life, and I’m constantly telling them that I desperately wish there was something I could do to help them, so I think it would be hypocritical if I didn’t support them in this. I was really uncomfortable and confused about it at first, and still feel like I don’t fully know what happened or what it means, but I know that it’s a positive thing for her, and that it’s not just a decision she’d have made on the whim. I think she should have told about the merge beforehand, but as I said, I recognise that she already deals with a lot, so I can’t hold that against her too much. I can’t imagine how anxious telling me after the fact must have made her, she had no idea how I’d react.

On the 11th of this month we were together exactly 10 months. As a kind of celebration we talked over voice chat, something we had only done once before. It was really exhilarating to hear her voice in real time, and she seemed just as, if not more excited to hear mine. It’s clear from her tone of voice alone that she loves me no less than she did before the merger, and that as I said, this is a positive thing for her, so I fully support it. Besides, while different, I can still recognise Brazie’s personality in her.

>>42144847
>What do you think about that?
As I Vegan I think it’s important to recognise that merely by existing in an industrial society you are contributing towards the death and torture of animals. For example in a lot of bread brands there’s something called l-sistine, which is basically pig hair, lots of soaps are made from animal fat, and most sugar is grinned through charred animal bones. There is virtually no 100% Vegan product in our society, you can not be 100% Vegan unless you want to ditch washing yourself with soap (or you find the one brand that costs £20 a bar, and claims to be Vegan) and you don’t eat anything with added sugar, which is basically everything but the most expensive organic fruits and vegetables. The only way out is suicide, other than stringing you’re self up from the ceiling fan there’s literally no way you can live in our society without consuming non-Vegan products.

Wouldn’t surprise me if the house this guy lives in is made from dead animals, brick by brick, everything from the glass of his window to the tiles of his roof containing animal parts. Should he become homeless because roof tiles are murder?

>Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose.

The most important part of that definition is “possible and practicable” it’s not practicable or even possible to live in a way that excludes all exploitation and death from your life, so you must examine it all and set it on a weight of moral scales. Meat and dairy are the most detrimental things you can buy and they’re completely unnecessary, so it’s unethical to consume these products, the animal fat or whatever in my houses glass is likely less than 1% of the glasses content, it is also a byproduct of the industry, so it creates little to no demand, and I need to live in a shelter of some kind for survival, so it’s reasonable for me to consume animal products in this limited way.

As long as we live in a society that sees sentient beings as no more than property, no less meaningful or important than inanimate objects then everything we do and consume will be mired in death and torture. The only thing you can do is try to reduce your impact as much as possible without going full Ted Kazinsky and living out in the woods.

This is why I’m a doomer. You don’t realise just how pervasive meat and dairy is in our society until ever time you see it holds a large moral weight attached to it. It’s literally everywhere, in everything, and while that sounds hyperbolic and realistically it can’t be in literally everything that’s not far off from the truth.

Imagine you live in a hell where everyone around you is constantly participating in the most evil acts you could possibly think of (think rape, or just keep it abstract), but if you try to reason with them they’ll hit back with how anti-rapists are so fucking rude and aggressive, always pushing their anti-rape agenda down peoples throats, or how they think it’s cool that you don’t rape, but equally you should respect their right to rape, if they don’t just commit that act in front of you to spite you while mocking both you and their victim. And you’re complicity supporting it all just by being a member of this society. This is what being a Vegan is like.

Maybe that sounds absurd, but think about the differences between factory farming and rape logically. Is there really a big moral distinction that separates the two?

>pic related

Also here’s an essay I wrote explaining why even if something is 100% free from animal products eating it could still be non-Vegan when our actions are considered from a utilitarian standpoint, just in case this topic wasn’t depressing or hopeless enough.

>there’s literally no way you can live in our society without consuming non-Vegan products
Well that was the answer I was kinda hoping for.
I just think its a conflict of interest when you'll sacrifice the vegan value for soap, but not for food, when one is required for survival, and the other technically isn't.
But I do understand, I suppose its up to you where you draw the line. You don't technically have to eat meat.
>Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude, as far as is possible and practicable, all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose.
Sounds noble, but as you said, its impossible, and probably only goes as far as your wallet goes.
I suppose you can try your best to reduce the instances, but it seems like quite the struggle to me.
Tossing a can into the recycle bin, and not purchasing meat are two different efforts.

>think about the differences between factory farming and rape logically. Is there really a big moral distinction that separates the two.

Well by loose definition of "take advantage of" it fits, but the fact of the matter is, that it's a mistake to compare the two.
A decision to refrain from an act is a personal one, but you are pushing it to an extreme.
Humans are capable of grasping the concept of ethics, but we are also capable of maximizing efficiency.
I'm not even sure there literally is enough food to sustain the 8 billion people on this planet. Efficiency is required.
Many don't have the luxury of deciding what food they eat, and nature itself is built on one species eating/taking advantage of another.
Survival is not some happy concept where nothing is taken advantage of. Its required. We're just capable of feeling bad about it.
In an instance where there is absolutely nothing else to eat, people will throw out their values just to survive.
People have resorted to cannibalism just to survive,
but there is absolutely zero possible instance where you must rape another human being to survive.
One is survival without thinking of the implications, or sacrificing them altogether,
and the other is just a selfish atrocious act.
I read your essay. You can't compare selfish desires to the desire to survive.

Also, its cringy that you compare the two, and I have to explain this.

I find it best to not try and think too hard about such atrocities that happen in the world, and not just animals, but what humans go through. But that's just me.

>I just think its a conflict of interest when you'll sacrifice the vegan value for soap,
To be honest I’d buy the fancy vegan soap, but I live with my family, so I don’t have a say over which soap is bought.

>A decision to refrain from an act is a personal one, but you are pushing it to an extreme.

I think you’re being a bit pedantic with the whole meat/rape analogy. I was just saying that morally they aren’t a world apart, not that my analogy is realistic, of control not, it’s ridiculous, but analogies don’t necessarily have to be realistic to make sense in the context of an argument.

>In an instance where there is absolutely nothing else to eat, people will throw out their values just to survive.

Pretty sure eating meat for survival come under the practical definition. If you literally have to eat meat to survive then that isn’t immoral, there’s an exception there, for obvious reasons.

>I read your essay. You can't compare selfish desires to the desire to survive.

I don’t see how that’s relevant to the essay?

I think if you’re morally complicate in it it deserves at least some of your attention, but I get your point. Thinking about it doesn’t really do anything to help.

That sounds nice. I wonder if its better than traditional.
>I think you’re being a bit pedantic with the whole meat/rape analogy
Possibly, I just find one more ghastly than the other, and I think you picked something rather atrocious to give more weight to the analogy.
>I don’t see how that’s relevant to the essay?
You compare purchasing meat, attributing to the same as slaughtering animals yourself,
as well as comparing it to
hiring a hitman to murder someone, the same as pulling the trigger yourself.
Its relevant because you also compared it to rape.
Like, jeez dude.
>Thinking about it doesn’t really do anything to help.
I've come to the conclusion that currently, there is little I can do to impact the world.
The best thing I can do is impact the people and environment around me.

Why don't we just change the subject.
Here's a sick question.
Apparently you write pony porn?

>>42144857
Okay, I agree we should change the subject, however I do want to point out that there’s a difference between a direct comparison and an analogy.
As nouns the difference between comparison and analogy is that comparison is the act of comparing or the state or process of being compared while analogy is a relationship of resemblance or equivalence between two situations, people, or objects, especially when used as a basis for explanation or extrapolation.
I was only making an analogy with the hitman scenario, not a direct comparison.

>Apparently you write pony porn?

Did, like well over a year ago.

>Have you ever seen/read Buttersc0tchsundae?

Personally, I'd say that the ethical badness of a large hog factory farm is easily worse than 1 human rape/day. It depends on how much you value the suffering of animals compared to the suffering of humans and how the badness of rape compared to the badness of the factory farm conditions.

No, I’d definite myself as broadly Third Positionist now.

I don’t know, I started off Liberal like everyone else and then as I grew up I was confronted with some unsettling truths about the world that I was gradually forced to adopt. Between this time I remember a kind of transition period where I held positions like “immigrants are a detriment to our society, but it’s our duty to help them regardless of that, because if we don’t we’d be rejecting the most fundamental values of our society” and other similar positions that somewhat acknowledged these truths from a Liberal perspective. This transition period lasted about a year in which I did a lot of self questioning, after which I became alt-right and went through a very brief neo-Nazi phase that lasted about 2-3 months, but I am generally remembered for.

Proceeding my Nazi phase I began to adopt more Leftist (not Liberal, but Leftist) views and my right wing positions became more nuanced and moderate. Right now I’m far left on most economic issues, and my social views are a mix of far right and moderate to far left positions, while I retain a lot of the Nationalism and Authoritarianism I previously held, albeit in a more nuanced diluted way (especially regarding the authoritarian stuff, as I find myself gradually ceding ground to some more libertarian ideas.

I look back at my short neo-Nazi phase as being pretty cringe and gay, born out of an inferiority complex, lack of proper socialisation, and me being far less mature in general at the time. As I expected my views to continue to evolve I look forward to a time where I think current me is kinda cringe and hella gay, because that means I’ll have made more progress.

>why is ponychan still alive on 2011+9?

Because it’s basically moved away from ponies and is now just a place to chill out in general, with a vague pony.

Octo is 8, she only had 7 personalities. But yeah. I feel like I should have probably asked her more about it, but I’m completely ignorant of the subject so I don’t want to say something that might accidentally offend her.

I don’t know. She claims to have had multi personality disorder since she was a little kid so I always assumed that it was permanent and that she’d always be like that, but then I just woke up one day and it was all like “your gf technically doesn’t exist anymore, at least not as a single identity, but rather a conglomeration of 7 people”. I’d say I was upset about it, but I honestly still don’t know how I feel, it’s just all really confusing.

I’m sure there was a long complicated process to it, but for me it just came out of absolute nowhere. As I said to Boat, she’s clearly a different person/personality, but I recognise my girlfriend in her, and she still loves me as much as she always has.

You mean that weird thing with Grace and Leanon? Yeah, that was pretty autistic to be honest. I think a lot of that was egged on by Leanon, judging from things he’s said to me, and what my girlfriend has said about him.

She thinks he’s a creep now and doesn’t associate with him because he leaked a lot of stuff from her and her sisters.

Brazie wasn’t anything like that, and I largely don’t think Addy (that’s what she’s called now) is either.

Yes, although as I said I think a lot of that was egged on by Leanon. A lot people with multiple personality disorder tend to have one personality that’s very sexual while the other are either aromantic, if not just completely asexual, so that could also be the case. As I’ve said I don’t really ask her about a lot of this stuff because I feel like that would be rude, this is just my perception of them, having known them for nearly a year.

Personally I don’t think it’s really much of my business what her previous personalities did, excluding Brazie. I recognise that they were all separate individuals that developed independently from one another for well over a decade since I even knew any of them. I’m only concerned with Brazie and Addy, and as far as I know they aren’t promiscuous like that.

What Grace did with Leanon was completely between her and him, or should have been until he leaked it to the world.

I don’t know, I imagine that all of this must sound really autistic, and I know you’re sceptical, which is fair. All I’d really say is that you have to spend some time with someone who has several different personalities to understand it. I was sceptical of trans people until I got to know some and realised that they were pretty normal cool people, it’s the same for multiple personality disorder.

>And did pville lose half their mod team because of this?

Brazie and her sisters were kind of defacto kicked out of ponyville because of me. Brazie was highly protective of me to the point where she’d attack people and tell them to fuck off if they made even a light criticism of me.

That caused tension because everyone there obviously hates me, and she was lashing out at people in my defence. Rather ironically most people on ponyville didn’t respect the fact that her separate personalities were completely different people, so they were harassed for sharing the same body with someone who dated me.

I feel pretty bad about them getting forced out, but they didn’t really use the site all that much anyway, and Brazie at least insisted that they were assholes and she didn’t want to post there.

They were, and are still technically admins, but she doesn’t really use the site anymore, and the personalities that preceded her moved away as well. As I said they were never particularly active in the first place.

Not like they were doing anything IRL. No offence to them, speaking as someone who basically is an incel, but I’m pretty sure they were in the same boat as me, again regarding being an incel.

Yeah, but I’m talking about what her other sisters did, in the past, before I was dating the amalgamation of them.

>I think a person you would insult by talking about personal topics with is just a friend, not a gf.

I don’t think I’d insult her, and any question I’ve asked about it in the past she’s answered, going as far to say that she isn’t offended when I ask if I’m being rude. She probably wouldn’t be insulted, but I don’t ask anyway because I feel like the questions may be rude, even if that is irrational.

But seriously, I was actually planning (at the end of last year) on going hiking around Loch Lomond (about an hour away on a train, so I could potentially even go there for a day, but I was thinking of like a week, maybe at least a weekend) during the Summer, with the money I’d presumably get from the job I thought I’d have, if not with what I could scrape together.

I think I’d enjoy something like that, I just couldn’t get into it this year for obvious reasons. Same with guns. If you have a hunting license here it’s actually quite easy to get some pretty decent guns. I think taking a rifle up to the Highlands and shooting a bunch of trees and target practices would be awesome.

Maybe by this time next year I’ll be a good bit towards either of those things, if something else doesn’t happen.

What the fuck! I just had the most meta dream imaginable. I must have “woken up” like 6 or 7 times, at least, each felt 100% real and vivid. This is honestly one of the weirdest things I’ve ever experienced. It’s probably going to sound pretty strange for different reasons to you, especially since I forgot half of it, all I can really say is that you had to experience it to fully understand it.

The dream starts off with me in this very tall building that I can’t get out off, and everyone there that I talk to seems reluctant to let me out (possibly my subconscious foreshadowing my inability to escape the dream as a whole). After searching the building, and beginning to get quite worried as to why no one will let me out, I finally find away out. I should also say that like all of the “dream sequences” for me it was extremely vivid, I’ve forgotten half of it, but I could still get really into detail, I just don’t want to make this post too long. This one actually lasted for like 5-10 minutes, but it was pretty boring compared to the others, just me walking around a tall building talking to people.

Anyway I wake up and I’m in a car going to this place that my family has consistently went to on holiday for years. I check my phone and I see this amazing meme, of myself, as in not Mint horse, but IRL me, me as a real person. This meme has a picture of me in the centre of it and surrounded by me is a white background with black text, all saying extremely disparaging things about me (I’m also wearing the collar that my girlfriend made me buy). My first reaction is “how the fuck is there a meme of me on the Internet, my second is “hey, this is actually pretty funny.

The meme picture is followed by a video of me when I was 10-14 (the age is vague) acting like a stupid kid. For someone reason the dream presents this to me as a “meme”, even though it’s just some picture of me doing kid stuff with a friend. Maybe it’s because I have a fear of embarrassment and having a video of me as a kid on the Internet (made by someone who knows about my online persona, judging by the collar thing) is embarrassing, I don’t know, that’s the only way I can tie it together.

Anyway I wake up again and my first thought was “that was fucking weird, better tell Kadence about it” (I woke up at like 5AM before I went back to sleep and had these dreams again, but I thought this was a Kadence post). In my dream I’m in my neighbourhood, and I’m going home while simultaneously thinking of who could have possibly made the meme, but also trying to remember my dream (somehow the meme was just a dream, but it was also real and I was curious as to who made it, and while I’m thinking all of this I’m still in a dream). I didn’t know whether or not I should include this, but as I walked home I noted mentally that there were a lot of Blacks in my neighbourhood.

Eventually I come across this Black and White kid who seem to be friends, and I act how I always act around Blacks IRL, I try to be extra polite and friendly towards him, even choosing to interact with him rather than the White kid because I feel guilty about my implicit racism towards him, even though there’s a big part of me that’s like “why are you here” in my head, which I feel bad about and try to compensate for.

They tell me about the meme, and apparently there’s this Irish YouTuber who made a video about it. I somehow find this YouTuber after watching his video about the meme and talk to him about it. Can’t remember what we said or what really happened here, although I remember it getting really deep and meta, like really, really fucking weird, taking the meme to a whole new level of disturbing, yet most fascination for me. Again, wish I could describe or even remember this because it went deep into the meme and was probably the weirdest part of the dream, but I forgot. (Holy fuck, I felt like I had a moment of clarity there where I suddenly remembered this sequential in full, but then I forgot after like a second. Apparently this was like 5-10 minutes long, or at least seemed this long, and involved me waking up again, only to continue to talk to the Irish guy and watch his video).

After talking to this Irish guy about the meme and his video about it, and watching all kinds of new perspectives of the meme, I wake up again and immediately think, “holy shit, that was weird, I need to write this down right now”. I get out my IPhone and begin writing, desperately trying to remember the dream in even its smallest detail, but I either stop for no obvious reason or my IPhone runs out of charge, I’d say I don’t remember, but I don’t think that detail was completely clear to me at the time (I may have woke up again, a lot of the dreams at this point blend together and it’s very hard to tell which is which or which order they even come in.

When I woke up again, or stopped using my phone after a few minutes I’m suddenly with my cousin and I’m trying to explain the dream to her. For some reason between explaining it to her I’m watching an episode of Rick and Morty (probably my brains half sarcastic way of saying, this is so fucking meta we’re entering Rick and Morty tiers of weirdness) which both the Irish guy’s video and thus my meme is in, strewn all throughout the episode, again, I’m reviled all the previous perspectives of the meme, but also some new ones from the episode, and the episode also seems to blend into another show that I’ve never seem before.

After watching the episode I’m outside with my cousin with a big bag full of memes (“big bag full of memes”? That sounds so retarded.), and I’m trying to explain all the weird dreams, the meme, and the Irish guy to her. Eventually we go inside to watch Rick and Morty, and that exact same episode plays again, but the meme and the Irish guy’s videos are no longer there.

So I wake up again and immediately think “this is my fucking chance”. I try desperately to remember every last detail about all the dreams again so I can tell Kadence, and as I do get out the bag full of memes, videos, pics, the Irish guy’s video, Rick and Morty, and all, and try to frantically upload them to the site, but then I wake up again.

Can’t remember anything about this dream, but I’m in the building at the start of my dream again and I begin to recall the whole dream, and as I do I realise that I’m dreaming, that it’s all been a dream. Remember every time I woke up I was aware that everything that proceeded it was a dream, but I also thought the meme, Irish guy, etc were real for some reason. As I begin to fully realise that I’m dreaming I desperately pull myself out of it (or did I).

Takes me awhile to successfully pull myself out, but when I do I forget like half the dream I was trying to remember so hard in my actual dream right away, like I wake up for real and half of the details (most of which relate to the Irish guy) just disappear.

Sometimes I think dreams are a way of your mind finding closure to something that is hard to process or bothers you
in an abstract way that doesn't make much sense to you on the surface.
Sounds like the theme was "waking up"
and a fight to overcome your own memeness.

Are you woke now?

I certainly hope I’m awake.

I’ll probably always be a bit of a meme, but I think I’ve made a lot of improvement away from that regardless.

When you reach an REM sleep state your brain basically goes into 'defrag' mode. More or less it sorts through the most recent memories you made, trying to figure out what to keep, what to throw away, and shuffles things around a bit in order to clear up space for new memories.

"Dreams" are basically your subconscious mind trying to make sense of this process, so you will often have dreams about things that happened recently, with older memories sprinkled in at times. So basically what you percieve as a 'dream' is your brain thinking that old memories being shuffled around is reality and is filling in the gaps to make sense of it, which is why dreams can 'feel' real, even though when you wake up and give it some actual thought you often realize how absurd they are.

tl;dr Dreams don't usually actually have any meaning to them, they are just your brain sorting your memories.

Apparently September.

I think my course is just a year long, so when I do go back it shouldn’t be for too long, and I’ll be happy to get it over with. I actually really enjoyed college, and my teacher is a really cool guy, in fact I used to look forward to going there, and I’d be disappointed when college ended on Wednesday because I wouldn’t be back until Monday, but it was and is a waste of time.

I think I might be intelligent enough (just by an inch, if that) to make something of college, but I’m not consciences or devoted enough to do the extremely demanding work that a serious college course worth it’s time would entail. Right now I should be finding work, and the fact that I can’t work for 3 of the busiest days of the week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) is by far the main thing in my way. I don’t have any qualifications or skills, and virtually no experience, but that would be okay if I could at least work flexibly, which I can’t.

I’d rather just get a job so I can get on with my life, and college is a detriment to that. I doubt expect to find work until I can finally tick yes to the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday boxes.

It’s a transitions course. Basically I was to stupid to be put into an actual course straight away so I got that. It’s supposed to help me decide what kind of course I want to do in the future and get aquatinted with the college.

It’s basically sociology, or that’s what most of the work amounts to.

Did you read my post? I plan to drop out so I can take up pursuing a career full time. Half of the reason that I can’t get a job is probably because I have college on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, and thus can’t work then.

I’m not smart enough to be a lawyer, doctor, etc, and I don’t have enough social skills to be a manger of anything, so in terms of jobs a college degree isn’t going to get me anywhere, and regarding education I’d rather just buy the books and materials I’m interested rather than have some lecturer assign certain things to me for a course.

As I said, could you imagine me being a doctor or lawyer or something?

I’m not a particularly materialistic person. If all I get is shit jobs for the rest of my life I’d be happy, as long as I can feed and clothe myself and afford some luxuries. Not like I’m aiming for a family with a big fancy house and two cars out in the suburbs or something.

Everyone in my family (extended and close) is underclass, or working class at best, so the idea of being anything better seems almost surreal to me because I’ve never known anyone in that situation, nor do I have the advantages of someone who has a family with even a few decent connections.

As I’ve said, it’s not like I’m ever going to have a family with a wife and kids, and I personally don’t need much to get by because all of my personal living expenses are extremely cheap. I’d rather have a low paying job that I didn’t have to think about when I went home than a “good” job that consumed my life.

I’d honestly rather live in a small flat and otherwise have equally humble things than live in a bigger house. A good house, fancy is car, etc would just be superfluous, and I don’t drink, gamble, take drugs, etc, so unlike a lot of people in my financial situation a good portion of my wages wouldn’t be essentially pissed away on poising myself.
