Staying productive during quarantine
I feel like this quarantine has given a lot of people a significant amount of more free time than they’re used to, that may not be being used to its fullest potential. Personally even though I didn’t have many responsibilities my Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays were cut in half because of college, and I’d usually spend about 3 hours outside each day.
All together even I have a good extra ~39 hours of extra free time when you count the average time I spend outside in a week and my college hours, so over a day and a half, and while I think I’ve been a bit more productive than usual, it’s very easy to just lose 4 hours or so online or playing games.
Earlier on I unsubscribed from all the YouTube channels that I watch for popcorn entertainment, rather than channels that actually interesting ideas or things I can learn from, which yeeted away about half of them, some of which I regularly watched just yesterday. I’ve also decided to completely abstain from games, and only watch stuff before like films or tv before I go to bed.
I’m hoping to read more in that time, work on my Chinese, and maybe even write a little, or if I genuinely have nothing to do I’ll probably spend it with family. I just can’t stand playing games anymore or wasting my time. It’s like that sad feeling of disappointment you get after busting a nut, you just feel really shitty and depressed afterwards for a good few minutes, like a piece of trash, increasingly that’s how I’ve been feeling after something like playing games, or even during. Just feels really depressing to know that x hours have gone by and I’ve done nothing.
Is anyone else taking similar measures to stay more productive during quarantine?
