>>42083073>I know about the inner workings of the medical industry comes from Scrubs
Honestly... fairly accurate haha. Except for people selling drugs out the back of the ambulance, that one didnt get an episode. >From what I understand, the idea is that you try to get in contact with as many different people via your radio as you can and jot down their handles. It's a form of radiosport, which I posted a link to in the OP.
Ah, okay i know what you are talking about, thats pretty much exactly what it is. Sorry i didnt check the links, i havent been sat down at my PC since you made this thread tbh. >but every since I was a wee lad, astronomy has always fascinated me.
Same here, my mom got me into it big time, and i like to relate things to it if i can. The more i learn about radio, the more astronomy and meteorology come into play which is cool.
I think Mikie would really like the meteorology aspects of it. >And looking into the Arch User Repository, it looks like there's a lot of software for working with amateur radio.
Yeah? For to do what with? HAM or CB? I might have to start using arch again if that is the case, this seems like its going to be a hobby that is a gateway back/to a lot of other hobbies haha. >>42083091
You are close enough that we could for sure make a contact if you ever want to try. >I hear a lot of truckers advertising/propositioning various sexual acts. It can be quite disturbing.
I worked security alone at a truck stop for a few years, 3rd shift... I've seen some shit.
Also, yeah, i was waiting for you to hop in here haha. Of course you have radios.
Here are a few more things I have found as resources now that im sat down at the PChttps://www.broadcastify.com/
Cool site that allows you to listen in on local ham repeaters, and EMS transmissions. Kinda gives you an idea of the kinds of people who are out there, and lets you know if there is a cat stuck in a tree or a murder in your area haha. https://www.amazon.com/Solarcon-99-Base-Station-Antenna/dp/B0017J7NQ2/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=antron+99&qid=1552014041&s=gateway&sr=8-1
From everything i read, seems like this is one of the best value entry level antennas for a base station.
It seems like a lot of people are saying CB is pretty much as capable as ham now a days. So i might not rush into getting a license or something.
