um that insulation shit is NOT safe to suck into your vacuum, use a broom and moist paper towels.

Anything in your vacuum sprays ito the air every time you use your vacuum after that, if it gets in your lungs it's bad, bad bad.

That shit shouldn't even be legal it's so damn unsafe to have in your breathing space.

It's sprayed freely in building plenums, many buildings draw the ventilation air throught eh plenum and recirculate it, some of those buildings cause cancer in many workers inside.

Don't vacuum it up and watch out, I think Mac might be an underage girl.

UPDATE:
My mom says that when she talked to the housing director, who had talked to another higher up, they said that the stuff that got in our kitchen is what's called "blown in insulation" which is different than regular insulation, it's a completely different material, it's not toxic like regular insulation is.

As long as it's not "fiberglass"

they used to blow that stuff in all the time, I had a house with a plenum full of it and just goingup there for a few minutes made me itchy all over (shower does't really get rid if it entirely) but I suppose by now it's probably not legal to use anymore so maybe it's ok.

It's been amazing actually. I have a lot of shit taken off my plate now, and can mostly just relax for the first time in a while, and that makes me really happy. I'm excited and blissful, sometimes so much that I just start crying out of nowhere.
I finally have an exact date that my bottom surgery will happen, 97 days from now. Three months. Everything is in full swing and no matter what goes wrong it can't be stopped. So I can finally just stop, take a deep breath, and calmly wait to have a vagina. That makes me really, really happy. Bottom dysphoria has been my most everpresent and painful problem my whole life, and now I'm finally gonna get that wretched thing cut off. 😸
Been making more irl friends all the time, too, much to my surprise. In just the last month I've met and become close with 5 or 6 different people, and they all legitimately like me. We're already really opening up to each other, it's really healing. And I feel so trusted, to hear such personal things, you know?

"bottom surgery" is just a term used to mean surgery to "swap" the genitals.

For trans women, like me, it means turning a penis into a vagina.

(For trans men it can mean a couple things, usually to do with gaining a penis in one way or another - they've got a couple techniques.)

Trans people who use the term normally use it because it sounds less icky and confusing and medical and offputting than saying "I'm gonna get a vaginoplasty!".

So TL;DR in 97 days I'm getting my dick chopped off and I'm really happy about it.

Lacking a hugbox, no matter how supposedly reprehensible the demographic of people, will only send them further off the deep end. It's better this way.

Honestly you've gained a better place for just this thing, in Ponychan; we're spaghetti as all hell, but we've generally learned to find our own value in this.

>>42077488
What you mean to say is that lacking a supportive social environment tends to send people off the deep end, but so too is any environment which refuses to question itself, remain humble or empathize with non-members.
Either situation will create their own forms of contempt and alienation, reinforcing their own problems over addressing anything critically yet in good faith.

92 days.
Had therapy, then chilled at a rotary sushi place for a while mainly taking advantage of the nice cold water. It's a nice spot.
Met up with Ms. Keyforge&Chill again after that to do some lesbianing. Lost against her in Keyforge for the first time. She showed me FLCL after that, it's her favorite anime and I'd never seen it. Then I went home and watched some Kimmy Schmidt with my partner.
Huh, my days actually seem to have structure recently, that's nice.

Adult (non-NEET) life just never seems to slow down the way life used to. There's an awkward rhythm to everything, where there's rarely a day where there's literally nothing that needs to be done, unless I intentionally abandon a regular routine/plan/goal/chore etc. I don't even have a busy life compared to many people but I still feel busy. Sometimes small chores feel like big pains in the ass. Something that takes less than an hour feels like it takes a big chunk out of my day. I have more hobbies than I ever did in the past. It's crazy.
Idk I'm kinda just musing here. I know my life is only gonna get more challenging and busy as I move forward with my goals. There will be more stress, more ups and downs, but I'm pretty sure I'm prepared for it. I feel like I've swallowed pills that were hard to swallow, had/have to deal with things that I either didn't see coming, or I did, but I hoped it wouldn't.
I wouldn't trade my life for anyone elses. There's people who have it harder than me and people who have it easier than me but I like who I am. I just hope I'm able to keep up with what should be a transition into a more productive lifestyle. I hope that I haven't peaked already, that I can still do more. I think I can, I just have to push myself like I have already.
Was thinking about this stuff as I walked.shrugs

Yeah, tbh nobody wants to stand up to an internet community like that because the moment you do, everyone pretends they're "only trolling lol!!", despite the fact that's it's all obviously sincere, but... someone's gotta do it.

Pol's such an echo chamber that you're never gonna meet anyone who's not a channer who actually believes in that shit, except maybe the occasional CIA-is-in-my-brain mentally ill racist. If not for the sanity of other people, get yourself out of there for your own sanity - it won't be fun once you grow up and literally nobody shares your political views except neo-nazi groups. Because then you'll either have no one to talk to, or you'll find someone to talk to by joining a neo-nazi group. And I don't think that's where you wanna be. Just leave the echo chamber and make your own opinions without letting that place affect you... even a little. You'd be surprised how addictive echo chambers can be, you'll want to visit, but that's not wise.

Yeah, yeah, I know. "It's not that serious Vilci, lighten up, I was just being funny."

So, you are aware you have a problem... Yet you do nothing to change and bask yourself into the "I am a literal sperg" mantle, hoping that will shield you and deflect any criticism or diverging opinions? Is that so?
Are you aware of how juvenile you are acting? If you keep acting the way you are, you will soon have no one to sperg to. No one will want to spend any time with you, and you will soon be alone.
Not because you are a self-proclaimed nazi "apologiser" and defender, but because you are a dumb, impressionable child who doesn't know any better. A child whose brain is basically silly putty for outside groups to twist and turn as they fucking please, because you do not know any better. No one is even trying to help you anymore, it seems, because they know any sound advice they can give will fall to flat ears. The ears of a kid who hasn't lived, and yet is ruining his life.

I WAS being serious actually. /pol/ is absolute retard. It started as people ironically acting as nazis, but now actual nazis and dumb people are around. People who seek to validate their twisted views, blaming everyone else but themselves. As bad as incels, if you ask me. But not as unlikeable and can actually do productive things, like the "He will not divide us" meme. That was fun as hell.

I'd think the urgency of the implications of the "truths" in question would compel the sincere observer to earnestly investigate on a deeper level, forcing them to address each point of the truths as critically as possible, and leading the intelligent to draw the conclusions closest to the truth on average one way or another; while the gullible will simply change their beliefs and jump on the impetus to act on them, leading to a general population where it's easier to generalize on first glance which side is probably working on well-informed truth, and which is full of plastic-minded zealots.

Macaroni !RevGiOKgRoCountry code: ponies-twilight.png, country type: ponyflag, valid: 1  42079005

Even if they don't beat the zealots by a numbers game, their improved ability to see the truth may give them better power to affect real outcomes. So long as the zealots aren't allowed any meaningful pathway to power - if the gates are kept sufficiently stagnant - it will no longer matter how great the zealots grow in mass.

And when unaffiliated outsiders see the damage the zealots are beginning to cause in their rage and the simple fact that their opposition shows greater wisdom than they, I think they'll know which side to pick. Madness defeats itself in its own demonstration.

Macaroni !RevGiOKgRoCountry code: ponies-twilight.png, country type: ponyflag, valid: 1  42079013

>>42079010
This does not define how one is to grow into a sincere observer, which is what I wish to get at here.

What is sane and what is mad is ultimately subject to what the times permit us to think, between what we know intellectually, what we value emotionally and what capabilities our environment grants us. Just as well, outsiders can and may themselves differ in their mentality, judging one side or another as sane or zealous based on their own sensibilities, which may itself be judged by us as one or the other, and so on.

I think the same desperation that guides one to join a cult that has been specifically derided for all these decades as the apocalyptic evil of the world, which gained traction for the mystique of its own illicitness, can manifest as a desperation for the truth when one's mind naturally matures or the environs inevitably change. When any thinking creature invariably meets with bad results, eventually, they will be forced to rethink their own strategies, possibly to the point of questioning their very way of thinking to begin with.
Most people can tell that poor knowledge will usually end in bad results, and that correct knowledge can sometimes totally shift the field in one's own favor. This isn't a difficult thing to see.

I could question here what purpose is to be served by discovering and utilizing truth, and by what standards the truth is to be discriminated from falsehood, and from both of these, we must ask what intentions and beliefs the individual already has.
For example, one who believes that it is already true that they or their own concepts have some special significance in-and-of-themselves that they can tie to their self-worth, or that such-and-such social condition must be upheld on pain of real or supposed extinction or subjugation, will continue to act on this belief whenever they seek the truth of various matters, poisoning any judgment of theirs and at best creating new lies whenever a contradiction is found. The human desire for comfort and familiarity may even tarnish or nullify the lessons of different experiences that would otherwise dislodge such beliefs. In some cases, one may even develop systems of thought that quietly acknowledge the truth, even go so far as to act on it where matters of strategy or convenience is concerned, but then also seek to hide it away from conscious thought or public speech, or to even destroy the discoveries made after they stop being immediately relevant.
It is also worth bearing in mind that a sharp distinction exists between statements of fact and proclamations of value, and knowledge of a factual nature can generally serve any value, even ones not entirely assimilated or personally held. It is no anomaly that masters of strategy and propaganda can and have existed for every known way of life or school of thought, with plenty of followers who can testify that their way will solve all ills for sure.

!SATSUkIQg2Country code: blank.gif, country type: ponyflag, valid: 1 42079023

>>42079022
I'd think sufficient loss of comfort and security for a protracted time would lead one to a desperation so great, that they would be willing to do absolutely anything that might give them hope of controlling the battlefield, one strategy of which is to properly extract and understand as much fact from one's situation as possible, rather than value. If conditions are desperate enough, the desire to end discomfort may eventually push one's values to their breaking point, at which the pursuit of comfort/survival becomes the only thing of value; and any temporary pain caused by the surrender of one's beliefs becomes outweighed by the continued pain caused by failing to seek objectivity and the tactical advantage this confers.

Macaroni !RevGiOKgRoCountry code: ponies-twilight.png, country type: ponyflag, valid: 1  42079025

>>42079023
But there we have a problem, as such suffering, potentially leading up to psychological breaking points in the most stubborn of individuals, can make indeed any strategy or new values appear worthy of consideration and adoption, as it is only the appearance of salvation that is required to gain their attention, rather than a necessarily deeper substance.
As a matter of fact, it is often the people who are the most troubled who end up joining into cults, whether of the religious or political variety, and it is with the mixtures of practical solutions, self-fulling prophecies and wild bullshit that can unfortunately convince too many that the new picture they have been sold is right, regardless of it's actual sum total of truth.

Well, most people prone to zealous beliefs will obviously receive harsh critique for them, and as long as their side isn't winning, the failure of their beliefs to take root and the seeming ubiquity of "nihilists" in the world could be taken as evidence that these "nihilists" have greater material power in life.
For a time, given the right philosophy, the widespread resistance could steel them in their convictions, but when too much time has passed and circumstances still fail to turn for the better, they might come to envy the power of their detractors - a wide, unaffiliated pool of harsh enemies who disapprove of their system for a breadth of reasons - and, favoring material prosperity over their faith, emulate a sort of reaction to what they previously believed.

Though such a kneejerk response is hardly rational skepticism, the relative abolition of value this confers could potentially give them an ever so slight intellectual edge over their past selves; for instance, allowing them to really expose themselves to thoughts or actions their previous convictions might have prevented them from, leading to ever so slight mental growth and an eventual pathway out of their state.

That's at least how it worked for me.

86 days.
Two of my friends said they wanted to learn Keyforge so I dropped everything and sped off to teach them, because I love love love this game, and I love them too - they're one of those couples who are both cute subby lesbians, but over time one of them had to assume the mantle of domme out of necessity.
They each played me once, and I crushed them both because I forgot to bring any of my decks that aren't amazing. That was a mistake in planning on my part, but I guess at least they'll feel confident I wasn't going east on them. They had a lot of fun, and they want to do it again.
Then we cuddled a ton and touched boobs and stuff, as ya do when you're Gals Being Pals™.
Then we had some nice chili and caught a few minutes of the superb owl. Then I fell into a stupor because I got no fucking sleep last night, and one of them drove me home.
I should probably be asleep.
It was a good day.

Not a VM?

After periodic total system lockups due to Samdung's EVO SSDs not playing nice with AMD storage controller, I transplanted in a nice HP S700 Pro hard drive and finally, everything is running smoothly.

Though for some reason, there's an unused partition wasting a couple hundred megabytes just before the system partition, so I can't merge it without converting to a dynamic disk. I don't know how that got there.

Also, a pox on Microsoft for breaking bcdboot and bootrec and not telling anyone about it. How about a changelog or commandline message saying to use bootsect /nt60 sys instead of an insubordinate "access denied" you fucks?

I mean, I'm not trying to sound like a douche here, but the way to do that is like...talk to people in a context other than the internet. If you think people suck because of how they act online, but you have trouble exposing yourself to people offline, then it's kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy-type thing of thinking people suck.

I mean, yes. I will concede here.

However, I maintain that people online are acting in accordance with their "id", which is more truthful than their offline persona which is mostly being constrained by social niceties. I'm not all that interested in befriending someone who will call me "Iris" to my face and call me "a fucking degenerate t****y who deserves rape" online, you know?

Everyone is mostly constrained by social contracts and laws offline, so I cannot be sure if they're lying. And most people would take offence to me straight out asking that, especially if they're a liar. Partial anonymity online makes people honest, which I appriciate.

That being said, a lot of this is my paranoia talking. Especially since I have to operate on like...a couple of different layers of bullshitting myself. I can't just be me, I have to pretend to be a "boy" me just to avoid transphobic shit and hate crimes.
Tl;dr
Yeah, you're right, but being trans makes that shit harder cuz I'm almost certain some of those people legitimately want me to be erased except in a fetish context.

I've spent 24 years consciously dealing with other people's bullshit, ignorance and abusive behavior. I'm too good to suffer through more of that for what ammounts to going over the trenches in WW1.

I have to/want to, but the risk really doesn't seem to measure up to the reward. I'm forced to do something I hate, simply because otherwise I'll be miserable. No, because half the time she's just awkwardly trying to invade my privacy about who I'm talking to online these days and the other half she's just...she's like...I don't know but she's just not fun to be around. He's actually expressed one idea that I think is a pretty worthwhile and honestly kind of powerful one.

"People don't have ideas, ideas have people."

I don't necessarily agree with the first half of that, but I certainly agree with the second half. It's unavoidable to be had by ideas, that's part of the human condition...but it's good to be self-aware about it and keep our dogmas and preconceived notions in check.

Interestingy it stopped doing that a while after I actually watched some videos. I'd like to finish the original lectures at one point, very interesting stuff in there. He also seemed a whole different and more likeable person compared to more recent stuff.
Or maybe I have just overwritten it with other input, who knows.
Also that one fucking arte doc about Xi Jinping was in recommendations forever.

My sister is a federal law clerk, and it seems she made good use of her month-long furlough during the shutdown, since I just got word I'm getting a 3rd niece or nephew.

Not sure why, I feel slightly annoyed by the news, TBH. Maybe it's because they're now contributing to a net population increase. Parents should never have more than two.

Or maybe it's because I'm just grumpy because I feel like crap this morning and there's going to be a LOT of shoveling this week.

Academia, specialists in various fields, and even legal people have had to deal with them before, particularly with Peterson, and the serious examination of his shit has become almost comical for how much of it just burns down or turns out to have missed it's target entirely.
However, if you have the qualifications and a proposal for how we'll get genuinely new knowledge from another deconstruction of either christian conservativism of the 1950's, fearmongering of an 'SJW' menace, already-discredited science and philosophy, or discourse that refuses solid commitment to defining it's own terms, then be my guest.

80 days.
Huh, you know, 80 Days is a really good video game, you guys should play it some time. You just try to make the journey from Around the World in 80 Days as fast as you can, and win Phileas Fogg's wager. You play as Passepartout. While the game is primarily highly narrative, there's also a lot of resource and time management as you make sure you catch all the right trains and don't run out of money and have to sleep on the streets. It's fascinating. Very replayable, since you can take different routes and make different narrative and gameplay decisions - and even if you take the same route as last time, some things are randomized, iirc.

Aaaaanyway, went to a Keyforge tournament yesterday and won all 4 games I participated in. I'm pretty happy about that. I won a Dis chain tracker. Also, one of my girlfriends bought me some custom Keys!! (Pictured.)
It was so nice of her, it was just out of the blue, she showed up at the tournament and when I got out my cardboard keys she was like "or you could play with these <3"! I didn't have anything to give her in return, I should find something nice that she'd like...
The deck of mine that entirely demolished everyone else, including a Horseman deck piloted by the girl who taught me the game (the student surpasses the teacher!) was named Madam "Sadie" Porcius. Her decklist is here: https://www.keyforgegame.com/deck-details/53404364-a184-47c0-a507-80a6ef0cb572
She was a blast to play with, I really like the way she operates. She's basically got her Sanctum strategy, which is make an insane unbeatable armored army, her Mars strategy, which is use Zookeepers and Jammers to steal all the opponent's creatures and stop them from ever forging, and then a teeeensy dash of Dis, that can be used to perform decent interruptions in a pinch. (A board-wipe, chaining the opponent, etc.)
I love her and I'm going to marry her.
Yes, the deck. I'm going to marry my Keyforge deck.

77 days.
I played my first ever session of D&D!
I know, crazy, right? I have played tons of RPGs, of all sorts of settings, but I'd never played a Tolkienesque fantasy setting before, let alone specifically D&D.
I was asked to join a girlfriend's campaign because their party needed a support character. The setting is homebrew, the premise being that we're all in hell and we all work for the queen of hell because we don't have a choice. Thus, only evil-aligned characters may even participate, which I thought was amusing.
I played Paris - no last name - a rockstar human bard who had exactly enough fans in life to now be under the impression that she's the most important and beloved person on the planet. She ended up in hell shortly after snorting a fuckton of an unknown substance off the ass of a hooker, as ya do. "You're not a rockstar if you don't OD", she has repeatedly proclaimed.
The rest of the party's a tiefling prostitute sorcerer, tiefling lowlife fighter, and a half-fire-elemental warlock who killed his whole family.
So far we've had a bunch of orgies (under the premise of it helping us understand the mysterious people of this town, which has kiiinda worked?) and gotten very little actually done.
I love it. This is the fucking bomb.
I should have played a lot sooner.

That's a... rare setting, but having fun is the main point.
I'm still sorry we couldn't make the last 2 first timers trying our party have fun and stay.

I actually really dig the setting, I thought the concept of a campaign in hell would be dumb, but our DM's version of hell is really, really cool. It's got different circles and each circle is a whole biome, full of towns and people and stuff, and interesting and mysterious things are going on in them. The city we're in right now seems to be filled with incredibly intelligent people who have also been brainwashed to all move in unison like ants.
We ended up convincing one to come back to our room under the premise that we'd be having wild sex. And we did. But then we also tied her down and figured we'd figure out if she was a robot by burning her wrist open.
She wasn't a robot.
But it all worked out, she just thought it was kinky, as she explained to us in an extremely creepy monotone voice as we healed her up and sent her on her way.
It's been a lot of fun.
I'm really glad that it looks like I'm gonna be a regular! I've wanted a long term group for a really long time!

>>42080516
I dunno, maybe? I was told to just make my character as evil as I could, if at all possible. At the very least, not a good person.
Even if my bard wasn't an asshole, which she very much is, we've already established that "pretty much all entertainers and artists are in The Bad Place anyway", meta-paraphrasing an incredibly good show.
I really like playing as a totally awful person, it takes me out of my comfort zone and I'm surprised by how I can end up acting, it's a riot.

75 days.
Spent Valentine's Day with my partner, first watching Alita: Battle Angel in 4D (it's fucking amazing), and then playing a campaign of Star Crossed.

Star Crossed is an incredibly good game, it turns out, and I recommend it to any couple, or any two friends who are close enough to be okay with basically collaboratively writing steamy fanfics together. You can play it with a PDF and a Jenga tower, that's it. Or you can buy the proper boxed game, which comes with the Jenga tower in the box, and lots of very cute art and such. The proper version got here in the mail just in time for Valentine's!
It's a game about star crossed lovers. The two of you make two characters, of any identity, in any setting, real or imagined, who are in love, but really, really can't act on it if they don't want to seriously fuck something up. You set up the tower. Then you go through some scenes together, that have prompts ("hard at work") but no descriptions, because of course, that's for you to specify. You go back and forth, role-playing, and every time you reveal something intimate or touch each other, you have to pull a block from the tower. If it falls, you have to instantly act out your character revealing their feelings. If it fell too early, it was too soon to reveal that, and they are pushed even further away, never to look back at each other as romantic partners. The more passion you can fit in before it drops, the more passionate and romantic the ending!
You are allowed to knock it over on purpose. And you can also totally end the game without the tower falling - that means you never acted. But that's okay. It's an RPG, there's no correct ending.

We had an incredibly, incredibly good game of it. We played as female versions of Valjean and Javert from Les Mis, shit was adorable. We ended up running away together, Javerte now convinced that being on the run from the law can be forgiven as long as she follows the ultimate truth of how much she loves this super cute rogueish lesbian.
So yeah we totally butchered a timeless story but I have no regrets, it was amazing. The emotional beats were on point, and their romance was actually believable. I'd go into more detail but it's reeeally late.

RPGs are super great.
