Most of the time if there is no alternate route (such as a bridge) there will be a provision in place to allow bicycling. You may need a permit, but if you call your local DOT and explain your situation they will probably be able help. >>42047788
A 49cc scooter wouldnt require a motorcycle licence in FL, so that might be something to think about. Plus, as it was pointed out, super fun. Yes, the rain kinda sucks but in the right gear, I find even the rain can be fun. It will give you a sense of freedom and mobility anyway. FLA is 4 season riding too, so you can also make me jealous haha.
Another pro is putting a sticker of scootaloo on it.
I know that dosnt help you for wed, but if you can find a way there and gather 3 pay stubs, im sure you can get a loan for a rooty tooty scooty. Kymco makes a pretty solid scooter for short money.
