Nowadays I mainly just have intuitions where something will just sorta pop in my head. idk, I try not to make strong decisions on non-rational basis' but I find that intuitions can help guide your fact finding or how you want to proceed in a conversation.
Examples would be stuff like I had a patient recently who had just gotten back from jail and she sorta shuddered with this look in her eye while saying "I really hate jail" It kinda flashed in my head that something sexual happened to her in jail.
A stronger example would be I had a patient who was stroked out and alzheimered so the only words she could say was repeating "No, no, no, no, no, no." I was helping her in her bed on the first night in the nursing home and she had seemed sorta agitated. She started up with the nos and idk, her tone of voice just flashed into my head "She doesn't know where she is and she's scared." upon which I explained where she is, she lives closer to her daughter now who can visit her and that we're here to help her, etc. Lady seemed to be a lot calmer after that and she managed to sleep through the night.
