I still haven't listened to One More Light but honestly Meteora is unironically a strong 8-light 9 for me and I also love A Thousand Suns and think Hybrid Theory is pretty good.
as I said in the original thread, Linkin Park was like, literally the soundtrack to my adolescence. it was the music I loved before I was really "into" music in general.
I'm genuinely, seriously saddened by Chester's death. it puts all of their music in a much darker, emotional perspective now, in spite of all the memes and shit. it's like the death of a really cool uncle who you would visit often and would always make you feel good, idk if that makes sense.
Linkin Park's music, however cheesy you perceive it to be, provided a lot of young people in the 2000s a powerful catharsis. they were massively iconic as well. I will cherish their best music my whole life.
I feel emotional just typing this honestly. it's horrible. Chester didn't deserve this. from what I understand he wasn't a bad person. lots of celebrities do bad shit like beat their wives, or do greedy things, or what not, but Chester seemed like an honest guy. but he must have been so damaged.
