Bird fact: Alex the African Grey Parrot was considered to have the intelligence level of a five year old. He had a vocabulary of up to 100 words and could understand concepts like size, color, shape, and even object permanence. The idea of 'zero' was also something Alex had a grasp of.
The bird died ten years ago, his last words being: "You be good, see you tomorrow. I love you." to the researcher who was conducting her experiment of intelligence capabilities of the grey parrot.
