What stories, heirlooms, artifacts, etc. are you inheriting from your family? How far back do they go?

I never asked to be born as a wigger.

Everything good in my life I have now was achieved within the last generation, nothing earlier. They were basically dirt farmers long ago.

Both my parents were relative outcasts.
I’ve got about nothing, really. Just stuff from them,

We can be outcasts together.

Let's make out.

Right here.

I inherited quite a few guns from my grandparents. The oldest would be my great grandfather's Merwin Hulbert and Co. .32 pocket revolver. Merwin Hulbert mostly made complex and expensive full-sized "Army(.44 cal)" revolvers. Too expensive actually, they went under for lack of sales as you could buy several Colts or S&W's for the same price. This pocket model was unique in that it had a folding hammer spur that wouldn't snag on a coat pocket but still allowed you to fire single-action if desired. It's also rather complex and finnicky to load and unload even relative to it's time. It has a fairly large half-moon front sight but the back sight is basically non-existent. There's an old saying that the thing on the barrel isn't really a front sight but a hook meant to snag in some poor fool's nostril before you fire and that's more or less appropriate in this instance. Doubly so since the "hand" or "paw" the little armature that rotates the cylinder is missing making it effectively a single shot pistol. Not that I'm in any hurry to fire the thing anyway. It being already quite old and obsolete a century ago.

My dad did a bunch of genealogy back to the 16th century... need to pick that up at some point, but not now.

My great great grandfather on my dad's side came to the United States and ran a bank in a small town I will not disclose the name of, because he was a donor to many town projects and our family name is on everything there.

Our family owned a tree farm and a cabin which was sold off a couple of years ago upon my grandmother's death, so we don't own the property anymore.

The only thing I have left is a framed 100 dollar bank note with my family's bank's name on it and a cheap J.T. Wesson branded Damasscus twist black powder shotgun my great grandather owned, plus a grammar book from the 1920's that has his writing on it.

There's nothing worth mentioning really. No pieces of art or heirlooms going beyond a cheap framed painting that hung over grandma's couch for half a century.

I inherited my grandfather's coin collection and his .22lr pistol and some of my grandmother's religious paraphernalia.

I'll likely inherit my father's arsenal one day as well since my brother has no interest. We'll have to decide between a Chevelle and a few motorcycles.
