>>516000Shift-wise it's just kind of been reality for me for going on 15 years now. It didn't always feel this way. That was kind of the transitional period into the social media age. I'd always ever just socialized with people 1 on 1 in private conversations. That was the way of the world back then. You set aside time to socialize with people. It was a habit that people were used to. And now everybody just publicly broadcasts everything worth talking about (And nobody actually reads it) and that fulfills most people's need for genuine conversation. It's chilling the way people I used to stay up all night chatting back and forth with now act like it's some kind of bother to reply to a simple "hey, how's it going?" private message. And it just kind of points to an inescapable conclusion that for the most part very few of those people genuinely cared to have all those decades of conversations to begin with.
