>is no longer concerned with expanding of personal liberties,
L Oh fucking L. Tottaly, yes.
See, the thing is, if I may be at liberty to speak about my personal experience here, it's that I joined the republican party when I was in prison; a place with no freedoms and other inmates, [white and black], seem to instinctivly understand that the values of freedom and personal liberty are held within the party that maintains the familial origins of social structure and the conservative values are what maintains a smaller, less restrictive, government That, and also I discovered that despite what you may think, the rhetoric of the left that spews mass inclusion that tramples on the thought crimes of understanding diferances to overcome rather then putting diferant people on a pedestal to praise with no regard for how destructive they can be socialy.
But I digress. There was also where I learned a big life lesson. It's called "get your own"
It sounds simple, but it's not. Want to be an independent person in the prison system? Get on a work program and get your goddamn own. Want handouts? Oh boy. We all got hand outs for ya. Just don't be naive enough to think there are no strings attached.
This directly correlates to the conservative spirit of providing for yourself vs. hand-out economics and obama phones from the left.
Also, I turned stauncher conservative living in Mexico where "get your own" took on a whole new meaning.
>See, if you call yourself a conservative, you'll conjure up this image of a cantankerous fat old evangelical man who's endlessly trying to legislate stricter ESRB legislations - this is the very opposite of all things edgy and cool.
But if you call yourself a liberal, if you say that your goals are merely rooted in expressing your own egoism, with the spilling of sumptuous foes' blood to reach that goal if need be - no matter what phase of history you're in, that will never not be exotic and sexy and edgy.
But that's stupid! The liberals want to restrict personal freedoms while the Republicans are closer to the spirit of personal freedom!
