Not gonna lie, I don't understand the appeal.

Is there anyone who would want to move to Florida and why?

I mean yeah, the beach is nice and the weather is decent in the winter

But it's hell in the summer

Taxes, probably.

That's my guess, too.

And that people are tired of harsh winters too

>>352925
I would legit move to a northern state if I could

Chewy (ID: f20c77)Country code: ponychan.png, country type: customflag, valid: 1  352928

My grandparents actually live in Florida. I've visited them once. Its definitely hot there, but I honestly like it better than the winters here. I just fucking hate the cold. But I imagine I would eventually get tired of the extreme heat.

Another thing is the hurricanes

I would think that would make people not wanna move here

As much as the news tell you how serious they are

I’ve heard the humidity in the summer is high in Florida.... Is that true and does that suck?

This actually makes sense. Its a huge group of people all retiring at once (thank god) and where do people retire to? Fakin FL bby! The waiting room to the afterlife.

Might not be a whole puzzle, but its surely a piece of it.

A couple years ago there was a really bad hurricane very close to them that I got scared about. I remember I was at work while it was happening and I was stressing out but when I got home I found out they got through it fine.

Anonymous (ID: c7d967)Country code: us, country type: geoip, valid: 1  352936

A lot of the appeal goes to the way that parts of the state are portrayed in TV and movies. People overlook it's a really dangerous place as far as hurricanes go. Too much of the law enforcement community is as corrupt as Louisiana and New Mexico. Then there's all the New Yorkers who already retired and moved down there over the past 70 years.

A nice place to visit, I guess.

Matter of fact it's humid as hell right now

Hating it tbh

It doesn't seem like many retirees these days

Boomers usually only come here for the winter

Aka "snow birds".

It seems like most that move here are those trying to start a new life and a better job

It's almost like people here forget that they would be called Boomers by a bunch of Zoomers in early Highschool and Jr. High.

Also the taxes might be low, but the the fees and some of the government abuses are absurd.

Gotta keep the old folk happy, at any cost.
