I'm kinda considering buying a Commodore computer since I found some online for a decent price. It'll be pretty kickass. I wanna see if I can connect it to the internet too.

Do they make a modem compatible for the commodore?
I know there is a huge homebrew scene for it, so it wouldnt surprise me.

I think so, yeah. I remember seeing something the other day about an IRC client for Commodore 64s, so you'd need an adapter to connect to modern internet.

It wouldn't let me connect to the internet at large but I think I remember seeing something about IP over HAM, or something like that, where you can connect to a BBS transmitting signals via HAM radio, but I don't own a HAM radio, and there probably aren't any in my area.

You never know, try looking for a local HAM club. Im sure someone there would be souped to teach you.

That sounds like way more fun than just going on the internet with it anyway.

I mean IP over HAM connections, not HAM itself.
I remember connecting to an old school BBS via telnet a few years ago, so I know those still exist. I don't know if there's a telnet client for Commodore computers, but if there is, I can connect to that kind of BBS, and they're probably more common.
I do want to get a HAM radio, but I'll probably wait until I move to Seattle.

Right, but you still need a HAM license and radio to accomplish that, so the club would probably have people knowledgeable in that.

Well yeah, I know that. Do HAM clubs expect you to have a radio (or plan on getting one very soon) or can I join one if I'm just interested in talking about it and getting a HAM radio/license later on?

In my experience they are just happy someone is interested in listening to them ramble on about radios haha.
Just like any other hobbiest.

Especially someone young, they are always looking for new blood to corrupt haha.

That being said, different groups are different and experience may vary, but most clubs are happy to get someone involved.

Fill your gutters with plastic leaves

Won't bio-degrade, will keep other leaves out of them, water still drains though.

The pellets would be a pain to not have flush down the gutter drain, not to mention dirt will accumulate and clog them.

Plastic leaves would work about as well as any real gutter guard to my experience.

A few weeks ago someone donated an Atari 2600 and a few games, but stuff like that goes to the eshop, which is sorta like eBay but Goodwill is the only seller.
I don't know about old IBM PCs and such, but I have seen newer PCs being donated. That kind of stuff usually goes to the IT department to be checked first.

Get it?
Its because ducks go quack, and that rhymes with "crack" which is something unwanted that can develop in poorly mixed cement.
So adding ducks to the mixer will give you "quacks" in your pavement instead of "cracks".
So its like a pun. A play on words if you will.
