#Politics

In this thread we post things about our country that make us proud or things we like about our country.

Being able to own as many guns as you like without having a license for any of them, as well as being able to go off of the highway and find some stretch of the desert to shoot on in the western United States, is one of the most free, greatest parts of American culture that I wish I could share with the whole world.

Good job missing the political tag

Don't see how a thread about things you like about your country is political but ok.

Edit; I strongly disagree with whatever mod made this a politics thread

Actually yes it is. Furthermore it involves government.

>The art or science of government or governing, especially the governing of a political entity, such as a nation, and the administration and control of its internal and external affairs.

By your own definition.

I mean shit, the OP's image involves political discourse. It's literally talking about law.

No, it doesn't... What part of "what do you like about your country?" necessarily has to do with government?
Could be the trees, could be the food.

We literally talked about this a bunch.

Read the sticky you approved.

Basically this:
Without that image, this would have been fine, if a convo about politics came up, it would be a grey area, but also:
>Please also consider using this tag for topics you personally feel may be tangable to politics, as a courtesy to those who wish to filter.

We need to all figure this out together, I just hope my sticky was enough to be able to cover eventualities.
So far so good though.

Oh, and.
What I like about my country is, the diversity of culture, the diversity of landscape, the access to an abundance of natural resources (not
like ... Oil, I mean lakes, rivers, oceans, forests ect...) The clean environment and the attitude of individual freedom.

I like my state more than the country as a whole I think, because we have all that, and I'm not aware of anywhere else that is both an immigrent and gun sanctuary, where you won't go to jail for weed and has a full transexual bill of rights haha.

So that bumper sticker that says "I just want to live in a country where a gay married couple can grow weed and defend their children with an AR15" actually holds true here... And I'm pretty proud of that.
We also have some of the lowest crime rates in the world, and one of the cleanest coastlines and air.
It's awesome, but it takes maintenance.

Meat is tasty

It is normal to eat meat

Do I do my best to only eat free range and cruelty free meat? Yes.

No it’s not. Meat is mostly tasteless, before you add spices, salts, sauces, and oils to it.

Most normal people drink copious amounts alcohol and smoke cigarettes, so I don’t particularly care about what they eat.

Well, then why draw the distinction between fish and meat when you're "just talking" if you know better? Esp if your position is that eating all meat is morally wrong?
I'm just give you a hard time though.

Yeah, I should head out too tbh. I'm just waiting for my hair to dry, I should probably get it cut.

I wasn’t really thinking about it, I was “just talking.”

>I'm just waiting for my hair to dry, I should probably get it cut.

Cool, I got mine cut last week, in fact I think it was exactly last Friday around about this time, ha ha.

Wait why would anyone want to depend on supplements?

>I’m not looking to build a lot of muscle. I’m happy with being decently healthy.

ok? well other people like to have there muscle.
Soo yeah. I'm not fan of becoming co depended on supplements.

Maybe you should think more than you talk then.

When you get a haircut, do you bring a picture of the Hitler youth and just say "I want this"? Haha.

I hate getting my hair cut, because I like having long hair, but then I hate when my hair grows out because I like having short hair.
I'm complicated.

Did you know that the vast majority of supplements are provided to animals, both to keep them alive and to make them more nutritious?

You already take supplements, but you just don’t know it.

No, but fashy haircuts do look really good, so I might have to look into that, ha ha.

>I hate getting my hair cut, because I like having long hair

I feel the same way, but if I come back from the barbers with anything more than a buzz cut my mum will make me go back and pay for the whole thing over again, ha ha.

I’m really self conscious about short hair to the point where it’ll take me a good two weeks until I begin to get comfortable, and by that point I’m already half way to needing another hair cut.

You're an adult, you just just have a haircut you want.

I get that you love and respect your mom, and I think that's awesome, but she shouldn't be allowed to force you to go pay for something again just to please her.

Esp if it causes you anxiety.

She doesn’t force me, in the sense that if I said no we might have argument about it, but at the end of the day she have to let me do what I want. But I couldn’t do that to her.

I don’t want to get too deep into it, but she’s a single mum who’s in thousands of pounds worth of debt, suffers from diagnosed depression, and has to deal with a sociopathic THOT of a daughter, who’s every bad stereotype about teenage girls rolled into one. Not to mention the fact that she has to deal with a hyperactive 10 year old boy. And that’s only a summary, there are a thousand little stories I could bring up.

My point is that she’s under constant pressure and stress, and has absolutely no breaks. I don’t want to put anything else on her back, especially if it’s over something stupid like not wanting to get my hair cut. She already has to deal with a 10 year old and 16 year old brat, she doesn’t need a 18 year old brat to add to her troubles

>Esp if it causes you anxiety.

It’s not severe, it just makes me think that I look ugly.

I’m looking into volunteering at a animal shelter, and I also start college in a few months. I’ll probably have a proper job by the time that I’m 19 (about 4 months) or just after it, but I want to look into volunteering first, considering that I have virtually no qualifications.

I’v talked to her about getting it cut more often so it doesn’t have to be cut as short, but she just says that’s a waste of money.

And as I said, this isn’t a big problem for me, I just makes me feel a bit ugly. Nothing I can’t live with.

>Just get an entry-level job at a super market or something.

As I said in my last post, I’ll probably be working within 6 months or so. But I want to try out volunteering first, because having just a few hours of volunteering under my belt will make me look a lot better than I currently do, especially considering that I have next to no qualifications because I spent all my time in high school reading either Mein Kampf, or MLP fan fiction. Wenigstens ich lernen ein wenig Deutsch, ha ha.

But seriously, I want to look at least somewhat employable before diving right in, and volunteering not only sounds like an easy way to do so, I actually think I’ll enjoy it quite a bit.

>>313285
>What are you planing to go for in college?
I’m doing a “transitions” course, because that’s what my high school suggested for me, and I’m hoping that’ll give me a good idea of what I want to study in the future.

Sorry I was just getting ready to go out. Anyway, I’ll see you guys later.

...in other words you have to catch up...
you really should research what you want to do for yourself rather than have schools decide for you, anyway if you can't find anything you like I recommend going into the "stem" field.

Remember volunteering only looks good if you worked in multiple places.
Entry level jobs is way better than volunteering because not only you get the experience, but you're also guaranteed payment for it.
Pesionally i would only voliteer at an animal shelter if i'm going to be a zoologist or vet. etc.
It can end up being a waste of time if you don't know how to word it to get a job in engineering or sales during an interview.

Later!

You are right, volunteer work looks good on your resume, I normally suggest it to people who have a large gap in their employment history.

I was being silly, however the fact is that there was no "slaughter". There was arrests and forceful evictions that resulted in about 300 people being injured, but that hardly constitutes slaughter.

Plus, when you actively protest by becoming a physical blockade to the thing you're protesting, it comes with the risk of being forcefully removed.

If you willingly put yourself in that position then what happens to you falls on you.
