How's this for dismal fatalism?
The previous owner of this house left some wood and foam sheet insulation piled up underneath this part of my house where the upper floor overhangs past the foundation and I removed it all the other day because
A. It does nothing to combat the cold spot that forms there in the winter since there's plenty of room for air to flow around it and
B. Rabbits dug a shelter underneath it.
Of course the rabbits didn't get the message and just built a standard grass rabbit nest in place of it. Which is going to provide zero protection from the big-ass black cat that wanders through my yard every now and again.
The futility of it all.
Plenty of crows around here, though. So at least I won't have to look upon the aftermath. Hopefully it comes by while I'm not sleeping. I can think of nothing I want less than being awoken by the sounds of rabbits screaming.
