Hypnosis is a state of inner absorption and concentration. It is like using a magnifying glass with the sun. When our minds are concentrated and focused, we are able to use our minds more powerfully. Hypnosis allows people to use more of their potential. Hypnosis is the ultimate act of self control. It has been used as an alternative to anesthesia.... and you could use it for pet play.

Haha no.
There was a fence that the door was on the other side of that people would park along, and people would come out and smoke there because there was a little seating area too.
It was a dead night, so we didn't think anyone would really be there, but then this group came out and basically leaned on the car we were in.
Or, truck, if you want to get technical.

Not sure if you'll even come back and see this, but I just noticed your thread and caught up on it and well, just wanted to offer condolences for your loss.

I can't say I understand exactly how you feel, since everyone deals with these things differently, even when there's some superficial similarities.

I will say that at least in my experience...you shouldn't worry too much about not being able to "be strong" in the face of the feelings. Sometimes the best way to not drown in the sorrow of it all is to just let the emotions all out.

Obviously there's times when you might not be able to break down and just cry until you can't cry anymore, but sometimes it can be worth finding a time where you can do that instead of fighting against the tide to pretend you're not hurting.

And...not that I have any business making requests, but please take care of yourself okay? Especially because you're having a rough time right now, its okay to look after yourself first and foremost.

That is good advice. Sometimes it's hard to let myself cry much over things, but it seriously helps out.

Its also advice I should try to be better at following myself, though in my case I absolutely had to put on a strong face and pretend everything was normal around people outside my family so as not to interfere with a police investigation into the matter.

I was able to tell my work enough to get leave at least, so I could have all my early day breakdowns at home instead of in front of customers who I couldn't even explain myself to.

Well, eventually it gets less all consuming, or at least did in my case. Like I still get really sad when I think about it, its just all these years later I don't think about it very much.

I'm currently unemployed, though honestly it's been kind of a blessing, especially now. Maybe I'll work on more IT certifications, or perhaps I'll finally go back to school like I've been telling myself all these years.
I've dealt with death in the family before, and they were always difficult. This one was definitely the closest, though.

Yeah, though luckily at the time my immediate family was all living together so we had each other for support at least. Definitely the sort of thing I hope most people don't end up having to go through though.

Still, good luck on whatever you end up doing, and depending on how long you've been unemployed and the circumstances of becoming unemployed, there might be ways to get help from your local Department of Labor (well assuming you're in the USA) as far as affording going back to school goes.

Well, I'm still unemployed after having finished my "retraining", but I'm pretty sure that was mostly bad timing, so I've been taking this time to work on my health while everything settles.

I only have my father and my other brother nearby. Almost everyone else in my family lives in Massachusetts.
I've looked into it previously, but never took the leap on it. Was far more dedicated to the job than I should have been. As much as I didn't like it, I suppose it gave me some structure, at least.
It is good to have some time to yourself, or even a lot of time, if that's the case.

Oof, I definitely know that feel, or at least a similar one.

Never was really sure if my dedication to my last job was more out of loyalty (though I knew the company didn't actually deserve it), a desire to keep what little structure I had to my schedule, or just that going to job interviews makes me anxious so I was holding out hope that things would get better without me having to find something new.

Unfortunately it ended up imploding instead without basically any warning. Turns out they really really didn't deserve the dedication I put in.

I'm sure something will eventually work out though, and it has given me time to stop putting off dealing with a lot of stuff.

>>3590
Well, Grand Theft Auto III plays just fine, though the disc drive is a bit noisy. Most of the models I have are SCPH-39001's. Very reliable, but they have loud fans (which I suppose I could always replace) and fairly noticeable signal noise from the A/V output (easy enough to remedy using an external DAC, but it can be a little cumbersome)
This is an SCPH-30001. Must have had some work done on it since the security seal has been removed. I still need to check PlayStation 1 games on it, and possibly a PS2 CD game (the blue bottom discs) but I don't recall if I have one of those lying around.

Seems to be just fine other than a slight issue I've seen with it on a clone Innovation SSI soundcard (which was a very rare card for IBM-PC compatibles that allowed you to use a SID chip, though very few games supported it)

Sweet. Actually I totally forgot, originally I was going to build a computer, but then I got the idea to put it and the 65C02 in a shitty toy piano I bought at Goodwill a while ago. My only concern (aside from my lack of experience) is the fact that the piano itself is monophonic. I'm not sure if it's a software or a hardware issue. If it's software, that's fine since I'm going to be replacing 99% of the electronics, but if it's a hardware issue, I'll probably have to get a different one.

Just some hobby work, this console was given to me a little while ago, I'm just getting around to testing it now.
The DVD laser sounds like it's straining a bit, but there weren't any skips during the opening FMV, which is a good sign. CD laser was very quiet, and again, no skips during the opening FMV.
Seems perfectly usable, I might even consider using it as my primary. It'd just be a shame to wear out the laser.
>>3598
Oh right, I remember you telling me about that some time ago. Could be hardware related, depending on the age and model of the piano, but I can't say for sure.

A lot of it has to do with troubleshooting. Determine if the media is functioning fine on another device first. Afterwards I'd try just cleaning the lens, because a dirty lens can cause all kinds of disc read issues. You'll also want to check if the tracking rail need lubrication, since that could slow down read times or even bring about a disc read error. If the laser is truly the culpret, you may be able to bring it back to usable condition by tweaking the potentiometer that controls the power of the beam, but it'll require very minute adjustments, and you'll want to make sure you're using a multimeter as well. That should be a last resort sort of thing though, since it can be a bit dangerous moving outside of the manufacturers recommend tolerance, and you should really just replace the assembly at that point.

I mean i always thought Nep was a guy, but i think someone said they werent a while back to me , but that either means Nep is a girl or trans, and since they have never actually directly said to me themselves, i dont actually know, tho im going to asume trans.

You cant stumble typing lol. Obviously the whole point of me typing it specificly like that was to infer i dont know thier gender in a joking way.

Jeez, it's depressing looking at secondhand GPU prices right now. Still some deals to be had, but considering they're often off-loading a ton of cards at a time, I suspect them to be ex-mining cards. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but you'll definitely want to check the thermal pads and paste. Always a possibility that you'll have to undervolt them as well.

Thankfully I already have a few. Not even doing anything with my 1070, but I'd rather use something smaller, with lower energy consumption.
Ha, wouldn't be especially efficient. Probably wouldn't even be worth the setup.

Do you have a full-sized ATX board, or a MicroATX? MicroATX cases are usually a bit cheaper, but if not, you can always go with the Corsair Carbide 200R. No sharp edges, tool-less design and has a nice, simple look to it.

Fullsize im pretty sure.
I always buy fullsize cases too, just in case, because iirc a fullsize has the right pillar spaces for the other two as well. That way if i fuck up and order the wrong thing, at least it will fit haha.

That case looks good, and the price is really good too, maybe a little more plane jane than i want though.

Hmm, kind of a cumbersome setup, but it would be viable. Hehe, it all comes back to GPUs.

Cubes are neat, but like, the other one is so diesel haha. and im hard on my stuff, so it might not be a bad choice.
Really it just comes down to i like the other one, and im going to come up with any excuse as to why its better haha.

Would the cable length effect the performance noticeably? Because, i mean its viable in the physical sense, but if a gpu cant handle running that many cables, then yeah, that would be an issue.

Hehehe, well if that's what you prefer, it is what it is.
Cable length can start to have an impact, but that's when you start to go beyond 40-50ish feet. Though yeah, a GPU will only support so many outputs, some more than others.

I think i have ports for 4 but one of them is "displayport" and who the fuck has a cable and monitor for that?
The other 2 are DVI and one HDMI.
I use to run 2 cards, but i took the other one out after a while because it was causing some issues with updates and doom was having none of that, but i really like it because it had a VGA port.
Maybe i should try putting it back in.

Yeah, it's probably especially common in areas where people are expected to be running on "Multiple layers of Irony" at all times. Kind of like some sort of Internet "Thug Life" thing where if you refuse to feel anything noone can hurt you, and the game is making someone else "Feel" first because then you've won.

Except....shouldn't it be easier just to be caring and friendly in the first place? Especially when not doing that is a big reason well...my only data point is me, but presumably there's other people who avoid a lot of the bigger chans because of them having a reputation of being hives of scum and villainy where jerks will spend all their time trying to bully or mess with you?

Hanging out somewhere that's welcoming and people want to make things better instead of just burning everything down is much more my cup of tea. So I try to do my part, even if I'm not super good at that yet.

Pretty good! I got my PS5 controller charger dock that has been out of stock FOREVER.
Finally showed up again on the playstation store. And, work was pretty chill!
I even got a wip of an art I commissioned. It's not perfect, but I gave them some notes and hopefully that's good stuff.

Your tricks are probably better than my tricks.

Since uh, Professional Help presumably knows what they're doing for starters, but also because my tricks include Playing Extremely Dumb, Rambling off some Nonsense I just thought up, or turning what was said into a joke by being way too Serious about something that could be taken as a snidely sarcastic instead.

Well, I can't imagine anyone who goes out of their way to be nice to customer service would try to be a jerk in many other situations, since that's the Be A Jerk And Get Away With It Free Space. The sort that generally only doesn't get used by people who know all to well what it feels like to be on the other side of it.

I think I've only had two ATI cards, maybe 3, don't exactly remember if we had a Mach64. I know we had a Rage128 at some point, and I still have a Radeon All-in-Wonder 7500. Do have an RX 560 now, though that's AMD rather than ATI, technically.

I think I've mostly bought Nvidia cards....though I'm not sure it actually counts when I just have someone else put me together a machine during a Sale Worthy Gift Holiday that doesn't apply to me but I'm taking advantage of.

I mean, I could build or upgrade a PC myself, but I feel like usually I'm about at the point I need a new PC anyways by that point (Or it just finally died alternatively)...and I'd rather not have to find a place that isn't gouging me or out of Graphics Cards cause reasons.

Nothing really wrong with having someone else put it together for you, but it's such a joy to put it together yourself.
Depending on the motherboard, you may be able to upgrade for quite some time. AMD boards typically stay viable for a while. Is a bad time for GPUs right now, though, or really hardware in general, but especially GPUs.

This PC has been I think 7ish years though...and its more that well, even if I was more responsible about restarting or turning off my PC ever, I kind of feel like its cheaper to replace generally...at least as long as I buy when they're handing out stupidly large harddrives and other stuff at discount prices.

I had to swap out the power supply on this one after it mostly blew up the first time because they put in really crappy brands apparently but that's generally a pretty cheap part to just get a decent one of.

Or like buying more ram is generally pretty easy to get good stuff on a budget.

I'm not really much of a hobbyist though, I just want something I can play games on when Steam has a better deal than Sony or Microsoft offer. Well, and Having a Gaming PC is already a better deal than Microsoft Offers on the Console end, cause PC is more slightly likely to get Playstation games.

Thats fair, esp now when the market is so out of whack with PC components.

Always nice to pick up those kinds of accessories on the cheap.
PSUs aren't exactly the cheapest if you want a really reliable one, but they don't have to break the bank either. RAM can often be had for cheap, though going for higher clocked/lower CAS latency RAM can jack the price up.
That's understandable, I feel like PC really is the best option to go with gaming nowadays.

Yeah, I mean I do enjoy working with the hardware like that, just not as much as I enjoy doing stuff with a computer that is turned on already.

And I really don't enjoy having to deal with Scalpers just to replace a Video Card. So that kind of sours that end of things right now.

Yeah, I think I got a Bronze Certified one for like $100 or something, which serves my "Mid Range But Still Gaming Tier" PC just fine. Not Cheap Cheap but when I was already saving $600+ dollars on a $1200ish machine after the savings it wasn't a big deal at the time.

It's let me generally play a lot of Playstation 4 games at better graphics too, so not a bad range, even if it'd be nice to live that life where you can have that insane top end power machine that....hopefully somehow you make not sound like a jet taking off anytime you do anything. That can probably still only just barely play whatever the Crysis people are making because they're crazy that way....

But I've never had even $2000 in highly disposable income, so I get by on sales.

Yeah, thats part of it as well, I like a pretty quiet machine so I don't tend to try and get a massive powerhouse in the first place, just one strong enough that I can maybe throw in a few upgrades as needed.

Its kind of funny cause there's a lot of graphics features that are intensive that I turn way down cause I don't like a lot of Bloom Effects or Grass/Random Foliage...Or Games with a Dirt and Grime and Dust feature...

Like High Quality Character Models and Nice Shading and Hair Physics are more where I'm at.

Yep, at least in games where you can look cute in the first place. I also turn Motion Blur down generally too, cause high blur tends to make it hard to see what I'm doing, imo.

Things that make me look cuter go Up, things that obstruct my vision or hurt my eyes go Down, things my graphics card should be able to handle but whines about also downish even if I want them to be more Up.

Think that's basically the priority list for me.

Kinda hard to really place. I suppose it's mostly a character action game (somewhat similar to Devil May Cry, but your moveset is quite limited) with a larger focus on boss fights, rather than the battles leading up to them. You play as Travis Touchdown, a loser otaku living in a motel in some small town in California. He buys a beam katana on eBay (essentially a lightsaber) and all of a sudden he's in the running to become the top assassin. He even wears a leather jacket, shades and a fauxhawk, with a magical girl t-shirt underneath.
I'm tempted to buy the remasters on the Switch, but $35 each for the physical copies is a bit too steep for games I already have and can play with no trouble.

That's why they were some of the best games on the Wii! I mean, it's also not BY Nintendo, was developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and directed by Suda51. Same minds behind killer7, Lollipop Chainsaw, Shadows of the Damned and Michigan: Report from Hell.

Around the Wii U, Nintendo really wanted to branch out into more adult markets, Generally by paying Suda to make a weird game for them.

Pretty sure No More Heroes was Suda?

>>4198
Also a single Fatal Frame game that never made it to the West because of game breaking bugs noone was willing to fix that....wasn't that great of a Fatal Frame game anyways cause it was Wii Motion controls and Suda51 was just not a great match for the series tone otherwise.

Like Suda51 really needs room to flex his extremely distinctive personal style so handing him a recently bought license that's already its own thing kind of just results in a clash of those styles.

One of my relatives had a homebrew program that would apply fan translations (and get around region blocks) for Wii Games as long as you owned the game disc as well, and also the Fatal Frame game in question.

They let me borrow it because its basically my favorite Survival Horror Series, but yeah, had a lot of weirdness to it, even if it was sort of fun and better than nothing.

The new one on Wii U is so much better though, to the point I keep having to take breaks cause its almost Too Spooky. Its in English too just it was only released on the EShop.

Kind of a strange application I feel. With a homebrew capable Wii you could just burn the patched game or load it from an HDD. Still, it is cool to be able to use an original copy.
I remember when the WiiU game came out. Was mildly interested, but digital only is a pretty big turn off for me when it comes to consoles, especially with Nintendo consoles.

Yeah and I really keep thinking that its because they were trying to catch on to this craze at the time where The First Section of a game is "Free" but then its a bunch of "Chapters" that you have to buy as a DLC pack, because even though they bought exclusive rights to it back when Koei Tecmo was imploding over an out of control VP having thrown a lot of the development teams under the bus by not paying them the overtime they were due and they absolutely needed someone to bail the company out, they didn't actually think of it as anything more than a weird niche game series that they'd have to find some way to Market.

Kind of a mess, even though the newest one is very good.

Really hoping Pokemon Snap on Switch does the Camera stuff even half as well as Fatal Frame Wii U did. Since I doubt they'll throw that under either the Digital Exclusive Bus or the "Trying to Copy Tell Tale Games" Bus.

They're definitely already advertising it way more and way earlier than they ever did with the Wii U Fatal Frame game, so thats a good sign.

I mean I'm pretty sure its going to be just a HD Remaster of the original except with different areas and different Pokemon they want to sell up at the moment + Hopefully Handheld Mode Camera Motion Controls that Feel Like Aiming a Camera, like they sort of did for Let's Go when it came to throwing Pokeballs in Handheld mode.

But like...As Cool as a Free Roam, Open World, Pokemon Snap would have been...this sounds like it'll basically be what I was hoping for all this time anyways, and they'll probably do a Physical + Digital release cause its Pokemon and Pokemon always Sells.

Even the Mystery Dungeon Spinoffs or the other "Random Minigame Spinoffs" usually get a physical release, so its a pretty safe bet.

I played a little bit but I never actually got the game myself. Just a friend had it so he let me mess around with it a few times. I never actually got very good at managing the Zombie Hordes well enough to get any good photos during fight scenes though.

And um...there's some waterfalls in my area but I don't know where the pictures I took that I really liked are anymore, or sometimes I've got friends who want me to take pictures when I make food.

Mostly the pictures otherwise were just when I used to go to anime cons though, where most of my pride was in running to catch up with people so I could ask if I could take pictures of their cool cosplays.

Like if they were busy or shy I wouldn't push it, so I missed a lot of photos that way, since at really big cons you're probably never gonna see that person again.

Um, I'm not really seeing any of the really neat ones I'd photographed before right now though. I don't really sort things super well. I mean I'm just taking pictures of things I like because then they're mementoes of a specific time though.

A couple, cause we go down to the Falls every once in a while and they're always different looking each year depending on how much snow there was.

I don't really know where I put those either though, since I just only think about them when I'm taking them and then I forget in the meantime.

And yeah its just really neat seeing the effort people put into their various outfits and the characters they like enough to dress up as.

Plus sometimes you get a cool moment, like there was a guy cosplaying a character from a sort of obscure fighting game and I knew who he was dressed up as since I was dressed up as another character from the same game, so I rushed over to ask for his picture, and was like "You're cosplaying Hokutomaru right?" and he was super excited cause I was the only person who knew.

Lots of neat moments like that that are worth taking photos to help me remember.

Um....it depends on how much money I have, but usually I'll cruise the Dealers Room a few times just to make sure I've gotten all the freebies being handed out, even if I can't afford any figurines.

After that its trying to go to any panels I really want to meet the guests for...and spending the rest of the time watching shows in the viewing rooms that I've been wondering about or trying to catch Cosplayers for photos.

Well, that or going to panels friends or family who go with me want to go to, or if I'm super lucky eating pizza after midnight cause that was the only time we had free and the Pizza is still open cause Southern California Based Conventions. Well and meetups for huge photoshoots if you're cosplaying from a specific thing are cool too.

Well, it's been a long time since I've been to Anime Expo though, since it takes about a day there and a day back and traveling and still being unemployed and all.

I'd love to get back to that sort of thing once I've got a job again though. Cons are really fun.

I think the best Panel I've ever gone to was well, for me at least a really big deal but I'm not sure most people would be that familiar with the guy unless they watch the UFOTable Fate/Stay Night series.

Well, actually looking at the list Tomokazu Seki is still in a decent amount of stuff. Maybe not as many Main Roles as he got back in the day though. Like that was cool enough that I wanted to go to the panel for that alone, but also....

He had Crispin Freeman as his translator, so it was almost like a Double Panel especially because they'd been in a few of the same shows, though usually Crispin Freeman would dub a different character than the one Seki played.

I got to shake Seki's hand after the panel was over too, even though I had to reach over a bunch of people to do it since he was just doing handshakes from up on the stage to anyone who was close enough below.

Never ever been so glad that I'm over 6' tall as that moment.

It was super lucky too because while he apparently goes to Anime Expo every year, he almost never does a panel or anything like that and well, you're unlikely to ever run into anyone at Expo specifically unless you have a way of contacting them set up in advance. So really basically a once in a lifetime thing probably.

Probably could have managed....if you were smushed up at the front, I only needed my full height plus tippietoes because I was literally stretching my arms over a bunch of people hoping I'd be one of the lucky ones anyways.

And yeah I like him for a lot of older stuff where he got to be the "Actiony Hotheaded Hero Guy" instead of more recently where he's been getting a lot of "Pompous Villain" sort of roles for his biggest name ones.

Well, I even like a lot of his weirder roles better than I probably would if they had a different person voicing them though. Which I guess just shows how much of a fan I am of his work. It was definitely exciting and I didn't think I'd even have a chance when everyone crowded up right away....

So yeah, thats one time where I was really happy to both be tall but also like just be really lanky in that tallness.

Not a huge beer drinker, but Sam Adams is always nice and consistent. Their Boston Lager is my usual pick if I'm going with beer.
Dogfish Head is a local brand, but I believe they've expanded a bit. Haven't tried too many of their beers, but I will say that their seasonal Pumpkin Ale is excellent.
There's also Dominion and Evil Genius. Have probably only tried them out once or twice, but they're not bad either.
If you want something that's probably a bit more widely available, Heineken is also a decent choice.

Been a bit since I've had some vodka. Actually was thinking of maybe picking some up to make White Russians, seems like a nice day for it.
When it comes to pricing and taste, Luksusowa is by far my favorite. Was only $20 for a 1.75ml, and I could actually stand to drink it straight on the rocks, if need be. Still, its more of a mixer alcohol in my eyes.

Generally I don't like being tall as I am cause things generally aren't made with my height in mind, but it was nice in that one case.

And yeah, though I guess that's big name voice actors in Japan for you, famous enough to keep getting work but also no longer young enough to play the teen boys that Anime generally stars? And skilled enough at it that they can take whatever role is on offer.

Yeah, he was everywhere for quite a while, him,
Takehito Koyasu, Hiro Yūki, and Shin-ichiro Miki all were to varying degrees, though I feel like Hiro Yuuki kind of fell off the radar pretty quickly an I generally have trouble recognizing Miki's newer roles.

Koyasu is pretty easy to tell even when he's doing completely over the top villains or goofballs, though his bread and butter used to be "Sexy Edgy Pretty Boys". His voice is very nice to listen to though.

Nah, its Seki who is Sly's Japanese version, and he often played "Action Boys". Well that said I think he's probably a bit better at playing smartasses than Koyasu is, since Koyasu really tended more to brooding roles.

Like there's a series written by Takehito Koyasu called "Weiss Kreutz" or well Knight Hunters for some nonsense reason in the USA, where they all play their "Typecast" role except as these basically Male Charlie's Angel Assassins who only kill killers that are untouchable by the law.

Its...got really low budget animation sometimes but its kind of a fun watch in its own way.

Yeah, so like usually its fine cause they tend to do a lot of "Slash through" stylistic kills for the final blows that work well with sometimes less than high cel counts, but there's this one episode where a recurring female character is being chased by some bad guy....and its a shot that's just her legs running, and its the same two frames over and over.

Like it only gets that bad just that one time and I think that's relatively late in the series, but...its kind of hilarious?

Anyways, from Left to Right you have the characters voiced by Seki, Koyasu, Yuuki, and Miki and they're The Hot Headed Sporty Guy, The Broody Loner Guy, The Naïve Younger Guy, and the Guy Who Has To Flirt With Every Women Ever All The Time.

There's a bunch of character traumas that explain why they're working as assassins in the first place and also their personality quirks, but basically the show was Koyasu calling up a bunch of his VA friends because he had the perfect story where they could pretend to be badass assassins with the types of characters they could pull off without really even having to try.

Pretty fun in that old school anime way, in part because they go all in on it anyways cause its roles they wanted to do specifically.

Oh woooow. I know they have a budget to work with, but that's stretching it a little too far.
luul, those descriptions seem to fit perfectly with how they look.
Sounds like a pretty fun show to go through though, especially if all the characters were written for the VAs to begin with.

Yeah, its maybe sort of like if they animated Critical Role or something?

There's also lots of funny interviews with the cast on the DVDs where they're asked things like "How would you defeat your character?"....With I think it was Seki who just was like "I'd velcro children to my body for armor and then also throw children as my form of attack".

So maybe not the most serious of workplace, despite the show being pretty dark.

>>4375
Depends on how crazy he went with playing Deadpool, cause I mean Koyasu has played some really ridiculous roles, whether it be DIO being just completely over the top, or playing Haruhi's father in Ouran and just completely embracing the role.

Like yeah Seki might pull off the oneliners better but I wouldn't be surprised if they picked Koyasu for his willingness to just be wacky at times? Well that or really Koyasu has a sexier voice tbh.

Its actually really good! I mean, like they weren't able to remaster it and they had to just pull it from earlier vhs copies because the originals got destroyed or something, and the art style is a lot more "Actual Miniature Horse", and the plot is maybe sort of childish...

But its got a lot of great music and one of my favorite Gen 1 Ponies gets a pretty decent amount of screentime, plus it's got both the Rainbow and the Smooze that showed up in FiM though the Smooze was a lot different.

Anyways, its something that probably isn't great by new standards but also I love it and it might be fun at least from a "Haha, the 80s were so weird" perspective to anyone that didn't get into MLP until FiM.

unironically an addiction

everything about CoD is designed to heighten your adrenaline and make you want to keep playing

almost everything you do has some kind of reward that makes toughing out shitty matches feel "worth it"

the satisfaction of going on a massive killstreak, or getting a multikill, or unlocking a good camo, or reaching a high rank reward, or completing dozens and dozens of challenges for rewards (calling cards, emblems, etc.). not to mention the grind for rewards on the battle pass.

every time I think "that's IT, I am fucking DONE with Black Ops Cold War" I want to play again within two weeks, without fail. Another factor is the constant updating of the game--rotating playlists/new modes, new maps, new weapons, new battle passes, new character skins to unlock, etc.

although ironically, after I finally unlocked that gold camo and just started playing in a much more relaxed state, I started tearing shit up. The final attachment you get for guns in the game, which is the thermal scope, is just...amazing. And the reason its amazing is because enemy visibility in the game is very, very poor. If someone is even remotely far away from you, or camping in a good spot, they are really hard to see normally, but the thermal scope makes it incredibly easy to see literally anyone even if just a third of their body is peeking around a corner halfway across the map. It's a GIGANTIC advantage.

LMGs are based

its so unfair that there are only three LMGs in the game but like 7 fucking SMGs and ARs

the CoD community is absolutely obsessed with the latter two but LMGs are actually sleeper OP. they're probably getting nerfed next week though.

Well, you have to be early enough on the curve for the games though, and um...maybe just not be super bad at shooters where you can't really take many hits.

A friend who was really into CoD let me play on their account for a match or two once and I just couldn't get into it because it was hard to see anything and I kept getting killed by people out of my sight range.

Not sure which Call of Duty it was, but the stage was like a cargo ship or something like that? Like I got a kill or two, but most of the match I was respawning which...is kind of boring to me.

Its nice to hear an explanation of why people like it though, since my only other experience is watching my friend's reactions and it seemed like he had way more moments of yelling at the game for being BS than he did having a good time playing it.

I suppose so. I do know it is all designed to keep people hooked and tick all of those little boxes.
Never been a motivator for me personally, I much prefer a game that I can jump right into. Not that working towards something is bad, but it's never something that'll keep me playing, especially if I don't like the game to begin with.

Honestly really like this game, its probably my favorite souls like, i prefer it to souls honestly. Doesnt quite beat Bloodborne tho :p

I never did play Nioh 1 though because you cant make your own character, its the reason i'll never get Sekiro depite platting all the others in the series several times lol.

I even platted Code Vein , which was urgh. I mean the game was alright but that plat sucked ass. Wont be getting thier next one though as the characters are pre-set, and i think its xbox only anyway

Yeah. I don't know if you follow but someone published some google doc full of the claims and afaik it basically amounts to some female fans chatting him up which lead to consensual one night stands (wherein there was a prior understanding that it wasn't going to lead to a relationship or anything).
I.e. nothing that ever should have been published in the first place. So I can see how that probably feels really humiliating on his part if it is true. Apparently he hired a lawyer to deal with it all. I think he's seeing it as kind of libel against him.

If anything it just makes him seem more mortal... human... which is why I think people like him as a streamer in the first place. He's not always "on" like a lot of others are.

I guess it'd be fifthing at this point, but yeah especially if you have a not so great relationship with your other brother, its not like his emotional state or whatever should supersede your own needs anyways?

Especially especially if you have a hard time dealing with him when you aren't in a rough emotional state already due to the grief you're going through right now. If someone tries to pressure you into checking in on him...well they should do it instead...or something.

Or well, thats my feelings going off my own struggles with grief anyways, where it seems perfectly reasonable to go "Yeah but I gotta make sure to take care of myself and thats hard enough without worrying about extra stuff" instead of having to live up to some expectation.

I mean its mostly not anything actually big. More just that even the regular stuff I'm not great at dealing with or getting the desired outcomes in real world situations.

Well, there's also the occasional crisis like waking up to a flooded house cause something broke and leaked all over while I was sleeping.

Mostly its just that like...trying to get hired somewhere is extremely stressful, but not working is also stressful for other reasons, etc. Or not being very good at talking to people vocally a lot of the time.

Little normal things that aren't supposed to actually be a big deal to anyone, but I'm really worried about despite not really showing it on my face most of the time? Well, I fidget a lot if I have something to fidget with though.

The whole hiring process can be stressful for sure. I do miss working myself, not that I particularly liked the job or really met anyone I connected with beyond light chit-chat, but it was still nice being out and about. I can understand not being especially talkative around people, sometimes it's just hard to get comfortable around certain crowds.
Think people may worry about things more often then they let on, but everyone has their own masks they put on. There can be a certain comfort to fidgeting around with something.

Nah, I'm sort of on a "vacation" in the hopes it gets sorted out to some degree this week. Or maybe early next week.

My mother has been staying in an airbnb due to a health program thing so I'm just staying with her while my dad gets all this stuff figured out....since thats a lot better of an idea than trying to have me figure any of it out while he stays up here with mom.

>The whole hiring process can be stressful for sure.

Yeah, even if I didn't need the paycheck, I don't generally mind the work myself (even if customer service can suck sometimes). Getting someone to even consider hiring you is the worst though...especially when your actual reason is "I really need a paycheck and I think maybe you might be desperate enough to give me a chance even if you don't believe in my potential to be your best employee".

Well, that said, part of my problem is that I've only really got maybe one mask compared to a lot of people's many different ones, and its less a mask and more just a veil that conceals everything. Which is still maybe a more "professional" look than clearly being a neurotic goofball, but isn't really a way to stand out from the crowd.

The water tube to the ice maker popped off....apparently. Had to get my brother to come move the fridge to turn it off while waiting for other people to figure out who to contact for repairs. And this was after watching the house properly for almost a week too with no problems.

>If putting on a stoic face in the outside world is what makes you most comfortable, you should find way to make it work best for you.

It's...maybe actually the opposite for me unfortunately. Because I'm uncomfortable and don't know how to deal with things or alternatively am trying too hard to live up to expectations I put up a stoic front and that's just become my default, even though deep down I'm really a rather silly person.

Ahhh, that's quite a pain. Those built-in ice makers/water dispensers can cause trouble once they start to go. Aww, I'm sorry to hear that, it sucks when there's big trouble on your watch, especially when it wasn't something you could really control.

Mhm, that makes sense. I'm not so comfortable out in public either, usually the type that never smiles.

Yeah, especially since one more day or so and it wouldn't have been me needing to deal with it, though we're working around the issue. It was really stressful at the time though...even though I probably didn't look stressed externally.

>Mhm, that makes sense. I'm not so comfortable out in public either, usually the type that never smiles.

Yeah, basically that, I mean I really don't frown much either, so its a lot more like I just don't show how I'm feeling at all. A lot of it is probably due to my insecurities or just feeling too anxious.

Shields up...or something. Though sometimes I just don't know how to react as well...even aside from awkward expressions even when I feel comfy.

I like to think I'm not typically frowning, but either that's just how my resting face really looks, or people really expect you to be smiling all the time.

More that I've conditioned myself to not really react to things externally way before this point? Well, that and just not even knowing how I'm "supposed" to react to an unfamiliar situation so just kind of trying to stay out from underfoot.

I do maybe look really overly serious sometimes, but I'm pretty sure a lot of the time I just look really sleepy or like I'm not paying attention. Well, usually I'm paying attention to all the things though and just not managing that well, even if I don't look it.

People definitely expect people in the service industry at least to smile all the time though, maybe a few other times as well? I'm lucky (or maybe sometimes unlucky) to have people notice me at all so maybe thats actually just why people don't comment on me not smiling very much?

Ahh, have the sort of sleep deprived look going on?
It's definitely a pain, being expected to look happy. Can be nice sometimes, not being noticed out of the crowd... guess that one really depends on context.

>Hmm, well that can be a good thing. Even if you're panicking internally, keeping your reactions cool can be really help depending on the situation.

Yeah, I mean that's the idea anyways, though I'm not sure it was a good life choice actually. Since I'm not necessarily actually doing okay or okay with whats going on but noone thinks they should be concerned about my end of it if I don't seem concerned.

>Ahh, have the sort of sleep deprived look going on?

Yeah, yeah basically always, that and kind of looking super pale as well. My skin has been referred to as being "lily white" before in fact. Which is better than being called a wraith or something at least I guess? Not really what you'd call a "Healthy Looking" complexion though.

>It's definitely a pain, being expected to look happy. Can be nice sometimes, not being noticed out of the crowd... guess that one really depends on context.

Yeah, though for that first bit its mostly a pain if you don't feel up for it at the time...or have to do it super long hours...or are just kind of bad at "looking happy". Like my smiles are really awkward looking ones always.

And yeah, not drawing the eye has probably helped me avoid a lot of serious trouble over the years, but it also means I get left out of the loop a lot too even with people I'm somewhat close with.

Well, it just means that I should probably make the effort to speak up more in situations where I want to be noticed though, like it's definitely not all bad.

People tend to not pick up on those things even if you are visibly upset/not well, in my experience.

That's a fairly polite way of stating your complexion is quite pale, definitely worse things have been said.

Unless I'm genuinely happy, I feel like it's always a strain to keep a smile going. Unfortunately I'm not genuinely happy much of the time.
There are trade-offs to everything, but it sounds like it has been a bit advantageous as well.
It's hard to speak up sometimes, but that is typically what you have to do if you want to grab someone's attention.

Which...is understandable too. Lots of people have a lot going on in their lives too, so asking them to worry about total strangers is probably a bit much.

>That's a fairly polite way of stating your complexion is quite pale, definitely worse things have been said.

Well, it was my mother saying it so, politeness was probably the goal.

>Unless I'm genuinely happy, I feel like it's always a strain to keep a smile going. Unfortunately I'm not genuinely happy much of the time.

I'm pretty sure most people who appear genuinely happy most of the time are probably faking it, cause I can't say I feel lasting happiness almost ever myself, like usually I'm not sad or whatever either but like maybe its unreasonable to expect a baseline of constant good feels? I dunno.

And yeah, I'm just a pretty timid person. So I always gotta remember to work on it.

Also sorry for the delays, been watching Friends on the TV so I'm trying to squeeze posts into the commercial breaks.

Ahhh, that would make sense.

You're probably right about that, or at the very least they're forcing themselves to feel a certain way. I'm feeling a wave of depression coming over me, but even then, it's rare I feel happy, rather than just okay.
Always good to work on that. May be difficult, but worth working on.

Hopefully its not a long lasting wave at least. Bouts of depression are rough, which uh...probably didn't need to be said. I hope you do feel better though.

Very smart idea...even though I tend to just use laptops somewhere I can set up and plug in myself. Still much easier to move around with than lugging a desktop around.

>Hehehe, gotta keep copies of all your important stuff!

I mean I can always just download entirely new folders that I'll likely find out is just all duplicates when I transfer them back to my PC instead.

Though really its more that I'm just borrowing a laptop that wasn't being used, so I don't want to load it up with a bunch of images beyond what I need right now.

Just means I'll probably just be using Sophie pics for chatting for a while or whatever, with more repeats.

Thats quite the selection there.

The gameplay for Graces should be mostly similar to what I remember of Xillia. Though it's tone is a bit different, due to Graces being a "Discovering the Strength to Protect RPG" and uh lets see what Xillia claims its Genre is?

Ah, "RPG of Unwavering Convictions".

Apparently there's a lot of "Discourse" about the writing being really bad in Graces, but it might just be people who absolutely loved how edgy Vesperia was about stuff calling anything with a bit more classically hero's journey story cliche?

I dunno, its got its own setup that I feel makes it stand out, and comes with an extra...half a game maybe beyond where the original release of the game ended if you get the Tales of Graces F version...which is also the only version in English I think.

Still, maybe a bit more like Phantasia than Vesperia for mood. Plus some good old Power of Friendship moments to top it off.

Sounds like Tales of Eternia/the Fake Tales of Destiny 2.

Originally a PS1 game like...a lot of PSP games are.

>>5347
Yeah, its a bit older at this point, so the animation isn't as polished as Xillia but it was the game before Xillia so thats to be expected.

Didn't mean the quality of the animation, just the content of it. Still, it's not really indicative of the game as a whole.

Kreamy!TensaiToKoCountry code: ponychan.png, country type: customflag, valid: 5353

>>5352
Yeah, there's a lot of it that's sort of spoilers, just of the whole game without any of the context. Though I kind of feel like that's every Tales game's intro.
