Not quite yet, but I want to make a puzzle themed game.
My brain tells me I should try to aim for something different and unique. Don't wanna just copy what other games are doing, as it might feel like I'm cutting corners in a guilty sense.

I've done this. Doggos are pretty adaptable and dont care, as long as they are with you. Get a cheap storage rental, its only like 30 bucks a month, and a gym membership for a shower. Rest stops have almost everything you need and free safe parking.

Thats exactly what my thought was. I didnt have landline internet for like, 5 years at least. I got it back just this past summer because there was a decent deal, but when that deal expires its time to say goodbye haha. Esp with 5g rolling out, its getting pointless.
Time to upgrade to a van haha. But yeah, i hear you on the "ive worked to have more" thing. Though, im always on the cusp of selling my house and hitting the road haha.

The Van Life is a life that many imagine for themselves, but few actually pursue.
I think you did it backwards, you're supposed to save money in the van, THEN get the house.
I could easily go get any job, I just want to keep up the salary I've worked towards to keep my nice resume.

They always fire all the drivers in December and then rehires the best ones in Febuary.
I got called back in 2020, I just don't know if I want to do this arrangement again.

Yeeeeah, but the equity i have in my house... i could sell it and slap down cash on like, a brand new Transit or Sprinter and be worry free for a few years on the warranty, THEN save the money for a better house haha. 0 down first time homebuyer loan, you can only do it once. The other option i have is renting it out for an income, but that will require a lot of mods to the house to bring it up to code and make it so they dont burn the place down with all the "quirks" my 1940s cottage has haha.
Its one of those things where its like... just fucking do it, because you cant rewind haha. But yeah, few actually do, and its impossible to ignore the down sides. Though, i will say, ive def been gearing for that direction for a while. Its something i have done, but not by choice, and not with preparation.
The lady in my life isnt so keen on the idea... but she also dosnt live here yet haha.
That seems kinda dumb tbh... but, in the meantime, UI is an option.

I have been playing stardew valley with Toiley and when I’m not, I’m making sure my three kids stay alive and try not to get crayyy because they really love to test the limits of my patience. Otherwise sometimes when I am feeling depressed kinda, I have this like buying problem where I buy my kids cute clothes or toys to feel better lmao so my kids have cute things coming in the mail

I used to watch YT vids of different peoples mods and experiences doing van life.
Some have some pretty professional setups and have modified the actual vehicle extensively.
I'd probably only go as far as beanbag chairs and a laptop to be happy though.
And some sort of cooking setup.
Living up north would make staying warm a little more costly obviously. But It can be done.

Its good that you have an asset to shuffle around at least.
I've driven Sprinters and Transits and they can take a beating.
Any used one probably has problems though as logistics companies love those vehicles and wouldn't sell them unless they had to imo.
I've never been inside a Connect, but many go after those.
Investing in the house might not be worth it given what it needs, but going all in on a vehicle that some idiot could accidentally crash into would be a big risk too.
What to do?

The future plans you have might just work out in the timeline, but we're living in a different timeline rn, so IDK.
It sounds nice to make almost as much as I was by doing nothing, but I'd probably grow complacent.

You cant trust the YT van lifers most of the time haha. They are only showing the good parts and editing things to make it all pinterest friendly. They never show the part about like, when a drug deal went south in the walmart parking lot they were staying at on their way to their next photo-friendly beach location or whatever and someone got shot haha.

But still, knowing the reality, its still something i consider. The nice thing is when you on wheels, you dont have to stay in the north in the winter.

Timeline skips are hard to account for tbh. So it more of a just keep going forward thing for me.
I have that same problem, it helps that im still able to "work" for my job even though im laid off, and it helps to know that its only temporary. There isnt that open-ended feeling of "okay, whats next" haha. I think this is just what employment in these times will look like for a lot of people.

I never played the Guitar so I really couldn't tell you, though every person wants to hype up their own instrument.
The difficultly when it comes to playing the violin is the tone and musicality. You can be playing for years and still never actually grasp how to play the violin in a musical and expressive way while maintaining a half decent tone.
It does get progressively more natural though overtime. You just need to consistently practice and I really really recommend learning from others. At least in my experience.

A lot of it has to do with the way the instrument is played. The bow requires a certain amount of fluidity in order to keep a consistent tone, and dynamic changes essentially always have you changing which portion of the bow and the strength you're applying to the bow. You can cheat a bit by playing closer or further from the bridge in order to get a strong projection of sound, but ultimately you try to abuse that too much instead of focusing on bow control you'll end up getting a lot of skidding - that can ruin your tone. Mind you I'm hardly touching the surface of how much different different techniques require you moving and controlling the bow a certain way.

So like, zucchini and summer squash is really good. You can make it just like normal, with a little tomato tossed with olive oil and cheese.
Its good and good for you haha, and you get the same texture too.

I went on a big long walk today with my dog around the neighborhood and through the park.
It was nice, idk why i dont do it every day. It really makes you at eases and just, in an all around better mood.

I always get a mental block and convince myself that just wandering around is a "waste of time" as if sitting at home on my computer is better. Or like, that i have to travel to some exotic place to go hiking, i cant just do it in the woods by my house.
This is a habit that i NEED to force, for our health.

I fly back to Boston tomorrow. I'm gonna deeply miss Mac (again) but I just couldn't do a six-week trip again. Two was enough.

It has been really nice. We got like 9 out of the 12 days I will have been here to have a lot of private time, and I'm sure you can imagine the stuff we got up to during that. 😳😏

I miss my Xbox with my huge TV, I miss sleeping in my bed that is actually big enough for me, I kinda miss my mom and my brother, etc.
I love Mac so much though, and I can't wait for his next visit to my house in March. 😊❤

Pittsburgh, not Philly, but the issue is kinda two things, one is that legally I was supposed to quarantine for 10 days after arrival which was...almost the entire trip, and the other is that Mac's neighborhood really isn't...especially nice, compared to mine. And it also doesn't have as many places to go in general unless you venture into the city (Mac is still in the suburbs). There's a much stronger feel of things being old, decrepit, neighbors aren't very nice, angry dogs everywhere, lots of hills, etc. Idk what even would have been open to Uber to in terms of walking destinations.

Something more permanent we want to aim for this year, yeah. My brother is looking at options for moving out of the house we share and I'm thinking of following suit. I have to look at apartment prices in different towns and figure out what compromises I'm willing to make in terms of the safety levels of where I live, the distances between things, stuff like that. All I need is a one-bedroom apartment potentially. I'm apparently not gonna have Section 8 come through anytime soon, so...yeah, I have to figure something else out. also lowkey there are kinda complicated family-related situations that are making things on Mac's end really challenging, and some of that is why I am looking forward to being home in the first place.

and now I'm kind of having a panic attack -_-

Also in case anyone was wondering, I am back home in MA safe and sound. Seems I remembered to pack everything I needed.

I waited 3hrs at the PA airport with Mac because we got there way earlier than we needed to. Not exaggerating--3 hours sitting at my gate. Then I was on the plane about two hours altogether if you include boarding, takeoff and waiting for the people in front of me to get off after landing in Boston. Kind of a cool thing--I didn't have anyone sitting next to me. It wasn't nearly a full flight. So that was nice.

Mom picked me up at the Boston airport and we stopped at McDonald's on the way home, I was famished. I get home to find out that I can't drink any tap water until Saturday or I could get get infected with echoli. Yikes. We have to boil tap water and/or buy bottled water.

On top of ALL that, my phone's charging port is broken. It has to remain in an ultra-specific position and not move a fraction of an inch to remain charging. So I basically need to go buy a new phone ASAP. Yay...

I got a new phone. Charging port broke on the old one. Would have cost somewhere around $200 to repair basically whereas an upgrade was only $80 up front (including a protective case).

They initially delivered it to the wrong house because after we moved a few years ago, the address on our account apparently never got updated, so that was fun.

They also didn't include the pin tool to eject the sim card tray and nothing I tried was working until my brother found an old one he had.

Aside from that everything has been pretty smooth with it, barring a few minor complaints. I can customize my alarm to be any Spotify song I want, so I could wake up to Death Grips if I wanted lol.

The new phone is a good bit bigger than the old one.

Speaking of things I should get around to doing, I bought a Noctua NF-A12x25 for my heatsink that I really should get around to putting on there. Works pretty fine already, and the Ryzen 5800X is supposed to run a bit hotter anyway, but I still want it to be as cool as I can get it.

It's a GameCube and Wii emulator. Not really playing anything in particular right now, but might give Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door another go. Also have Slugfest 2004, which I'm hoping to play with a friend later.
Well, it's also a Noctua heatsink that I have, and it came with a pretty decent fan, but the one I bought can push even more air. It's great for something like a heatsink where you need a lot of static pressure. Figure I can use the one that came with it as an exhaust fan on the heatsink, since it came with a mounting bracket for a second fan.

Dolphin is pretty well made, has fairly modest requirements from what I remember too. Can run decently even on a Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad system, as long as they're clocked around 3ghz or so.
I'm running a Ryzen 7 5800X in this system. It's an 8 core CPU.

Mhm, that little fan has to reach some high RPMs to push all of the air out through the exhaust vent. It is a useful design for cases with little or bad airflow though.
