I have been very frustrated with music lately.

I feel like...everything I listen to is not nearly fast enough. I want tempos and chords that my mind can barely keep up with. The first time I heard Dragonforce, I was in a moment of awe. Likewise for a lot of Touhou songs. But...now it just isn't 'fast' enough.

It just feels like..."Oh come on, the tempo is ten times too slow, and I can predict in advance what is going to happen far too easily." And trilling on a note doesn't count. Putting a trill on a quarter note makes it sound like a sixteenth, but it feels like a cheap trick. Going up scales might sound impressive, but it's far too predictable (some exceptions on this one, particularly when the scale is an unusual one).

Does anyone know what I mean? I want music that challenges the mind, that has chord structures unlike any you've ever seen. Sounds that sound irritating to the usual ear. I don't want to listen to music for an emotional meaning. I want something really fast and really complicated.

Also their latest was alright. They were really just going through the motions I feel.

There were a few moments that felt inspired, but those were fleeting.
