The OP covered all the technical details, but here are some thoughts on actually getting your video noticed. These aren't rules; these aren't even guidelines. This is just me getting up on my soapbox and rambling a bit.
Tell us what it is!
Don't just tell us "hey check this out", give us some idea what to expect. Give us more than just the title, too: sell it to us. I know there's not always a lot more detail that makes sense in text, but there's got to be some reason we all ought to watch it, right?
Stick around for the discussion!
I'll admit, as of this writing, replies to video threads are uncommon. Still, if somepony has something to say about your video, don't you want to hear it? More importantly, don't you want to use replying to them as an excuse to bump your thread? :D
The watched threads system is quite useful for this; to get started, open the Settings dropdown in the upper-right, check the "Enable watched threads", hit "Save settings", then after the page reloads, click the eye icon in your OP to add it to your watch list. Thereafter, a red number will appear next to WT in the upper-right if any of your watched threads have new replies, and the dropdown will give you quick access to them. There's more documentation on it... well, uh, nowhere yet, to be honest; head over to >>>/meta/ if you have trouble with it.
