Anyway, surely someone else knows better than I about these matters.

However, I'd like to point out that information like:
1. Contact me somehow (note, email me, etc.) with a request for a fic you want written. I'd like to keep them relativity short. I'd hate to run out of stamina in the middle of a novel length fic.

2. Give me a timeline. (Don't be afraid to push me a little hard. I need the motivation and if you don't I'll give you one and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE hold me up to it at gunpoint if necessary.)

3. I'll accept just about anything for ideas with a few stipulations:

A. I don't like shipping but I'll still do requests if you ask, just nothing to crazy. I'll can try for regular to kawaii to D'awwabeetus level cute if you like.

B. I would really prefer not to do grim dark, I'm fine if it get's a dark, but please not to grimmy. it brings me to deep dark places

C. You can ship but, for the love of Celestia, no Clop. I've been smut free for 4 months now and I'd like to keep it that way. More deep dark places

D. Preferably FIM fiction, but I'll take whatever you got
should probably be in the OP (or, at the very least, something like "rules and stipulations can be found here." Anyway, I'm just being nitpicky... maybe. No matter! Here's an idea for you:

After the events of Return of Harmony, Chaos strikes again. This time it has not just subverted the bearers of the Elements, but split them into a subverted form of their character and an exaggerated/reinforced one (separate ponies, basically clones; can have slightly different coat color or other physical attribute to tell them apart). The fic would deconstruct both character extremes (the consequences of said extremes on the characters, their friends, and the environment at large) before concluding with the characters’ reconciliation with themselves and each other.

That good enough for you? Maybe? No? Bah, who needs ya. I kid.

As far as the idea I gave you, ya, that about makes sense. Each pony would be split into the "best" part of themselves and the "worst" part of themselves. Hopefully, that's something you can use.

I've thought alot about it to day and I got some ideas, like might it work out better if perhaps even their good traits were so extreme that they became negative? ie: AJ is painfully honest and blunt, Rarity is so generous she gives away all her things, etc. If both halves are incapable of living on their own because of such a handicap it would force them to find a solution.

I really really really like your idea. It has real potential. I'm just tossing around some ideas.

No. Whatever you do, don't make Sues.

Maybe. Double points if one is their perfect Element but bad at their talent/important character trait, and the other is the inverse of their Element but exceedingly good at their talent (e.g. AJ's strong but dishonest and week but honest, TS's smart but bad at magic and dumb but really good at magic, Rarity would be very artistic but greedy and completely uninspired but generous, &c.).

That's the idea and the only conflict I can figure making sense in that context.

It's a little over 1000 words and 10000 was my goal, but I still got a ways to go and it's looking like it's going to be longer than I thought =w= But don't you worry, I will keep at this and I WILL finish this, hopefully in a timely fashion. Trying to get it on FIM fiction but it's turning out to be harder than I thought so just a google doc link for now. I shall keep writing away and try to get it finished before the end of the month. If you do end up with a manuscript from this exercise, you'll have won anyway. The writing is oft the most difficult hurtle; editing and rewriting are usually minor in comparison to the mental turmoil of the rough draft.

Gah. I hate to have to do this, but I got to apologize again. I, again, failed you, and for that I'm very sorry. If this whole experience has taught me anything, it's that I have a long way to go, both in writing and in work ethic.
